Returning player that can fly almost any race sub caps. Seeing as I never really gave the smaller scale PvP a chance and relied upon the larger fights in 0.0 I decided to return and focus mainly on subcap fleet warfare. My question is what kinds of ships are popular and/or most needed for these kinds of fleets. I want to fill a role and specialize, learn as much as I can before I move on to the next best thing. Sorry if this is a dumb question but being out of the loop for years I need all the help and info I can get! o/

What of the other 3 Destroyers? Do they all fill different roles or are generally the same minus tactics?

Svipul(arty svipul is really nice) and confessor are the best option from t3d's for me for small- micro gangs
if you want something bigger then RLML Caracal, navy omen and if u have some isk maybe orthrus
IT really depends on the gang you are Flying with

try out wormholes for smaller/medium gang warfare.

Generally don't get more than 50 per side in w-space

Yea I was thinking of the Cruiser route, possibly BC if they're still viable. Speaking of T1's what are the most well rounded of these ships? Are they used much these days or is it all flashy T3 and faction ships? (Obv trying to keep it on the cheaper side until I get accustomed to the strengths and weaknesses of the cheaper variants).

BCs are still viable as long as you fit for utility over tank. In most cases, you are fighting things smaller than you, so 1-2 webs, mjd, and neuts are mandatory. Kill what scrams you, mjd away from things you cant catch. Plus with insurance are fairly cheap to fly (30-40m total cost).

Nice ill keep that in mind, BC's sound like a good place to start. what about cruisers? Anything that can rival flashy stuff with a proper gang? Something that a group wont scoff at me for flying around.

You're going to have a problem with small-scale PVP...
