IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Release No: SP-314-16
August 26, YC117

Summary of strategic action by Caldari armed forces in the Essence region

At 18:50 hours today, State Protectorate forces secured the Ladistier system in the constellation of Vieres.

Retreating Federal Defense Union forces left the traditional headquarters of the President; Ladistier VI - Moon 4 - President Bureau, largely undefended. A vanguard element of the combined Essence taskforce encountered minimal resistance as it destroyed Federation military infrastructure and secured the station.

Unfortunately, neither Jacus Roden or any members of his staff were in residence at the time of the assault.

Glory to the State!

Of course not, you wouldn't have made it past the gate if they were, the Navy would have shredded you.

Was a great experience to be a part of this successful operation. Such a high profile location made it all the sweeter.

Well hell. I go planetside for a while to do some work with the FedNav JAG office and this happens.

It is unfortunate, but not surprising to hear that Ladistier would be left "largely undefended" by GalMil capsuleers. Its value is not strategic, and pragmatically it offers little advantage to any militia forces. I rather doubt the Protectorate will invest much effort in defending this system from recapture, either.

Once again, it is the Gallente people who will suffer from this latest Caldari aggression. Ladistier's President Bureau Station serves as a vital link between the People of the Essence region and their Federal Government. Without it, they are even more isolated from distant halls of Federal power.

State Protectorate forces should focus on retaking and defending their own territory. Nowhere else than in the Warzone systems are Gallente citizens more eager to see peace with the Caldari. Cutting off their access silences the voices that Roden and others in the Federation most need to hear if our two peoples are ever going to end this war.

Oh boy, another one of these threads.

No doubt the State Protectorate will be the first to criticise the FDU for making a similar thread when Ladistier is retaken. Note that I wrote "when," not "if," because Ladistier being liberated by the FDU is an ironclad certainty - but then again, so is its re-re-re-re-re-reoccupation by the STPRO.

The war you fight is as meaningless as the threads you make about it.

I'm going to post in here to say that this trumpeting of a temporary (whether it's for a week or a month or a year) seizure of Federal territory is probably counter-productive and not in the best traditions of the State - which normally strives to be equally unphased in victory as defeat.

There. I said it, Rinai.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I suppose that depends on one's point of view. I disagree on both counts.

We have seen explicit impacts on both Federation and Caldari State government policy in response to developments in the Warzone.

Finding meaning in anything said on the IGS is a bit more difficult. When I have started topics like this one it has usually been with the goal of recognizing the accomplishments of my comrades in arms or our opponents. Invariably, I would hear from my fellow GMVA pilots that they enjoyed seeing their exploits mentioned on the IGS. So, Op Success on that count.

Not sure what the point of this topic would be, since it doesn't sound like the participating pilots had much in the way of opposition or excitement.

Ya. Very brave taking a "largely undefended" location. It's a shame the civilian population couldn't put up more a fight for you.

So every time a militia takes a system or two they celebrate like they won the war?

Awesome. I'll bring drinks and those funny party hats.
