There was in the initial version of the page, it got changed. So yes you can participate.

I find it really insulting for you to make it for PS3 only. The least you could have done is offer it to PS3 and the PC. I have played FPS on the PS3, Xbox360, and PC and I really prefer them on the PC, but that's just me. To really rake in the cash you could have made it truly cross platform and at least show some love for those that don't own a PS3. But I guess some one in your company is still wearing those $1000 dollar jeans, wears a monocle, and thinks everyone owns a PS3, an Xbox 360, and a PC.

How much are the kickbacks that Sony is giving you, CCP? You must be getting something. I hope it is enough to cover the further costs involved with production of Dust 514. You have already stated you're using profits from EVE to produce both your new endeavors. You really don't need another scandal like the last one. I believe you were already shown the power of the player with the last big F-up you guys pulled.

Hopefully we will hear your head being pulled from your ass as you realize what an idiotic move it is to make it for just one platform.

Signed up... PS3 ready and no I don't have a PlayStation Plus account... I hope that doesn't effect chances of getting that email to join the beta CCP?

I've only had PS+ during that time where everyone got a month free due to that hacking issue and I wouldnt pay monthly for that service... would rather pay for another EVE account. Smile

Anyone received their beta codes yet??

Also, any word from the developers on whether you need a PSN account or a playstation plus account checked when signing up to be the first one to receive an invite?

I got my PS3 for christmas, AFTER I signed up for the beta, and didnt have the box checked when signing up for a beta. I'd hate for that to lower my chance of receiving a code...

I'm sure others have the same question. Any thoughts, CCP staff??

Maybe those gaming consoles are better at games with multiple servers; oh wait, you're not putting dust on multiple servers, are you? Shocked

" Warning, better eve-online players will be happily dropping bombs on you, resulting in your untimely death and loss if assets."

the reason for dust 514 not coming to the pc is becouse too many eve players would play this game, or atleast for a few weeks, instead of eve, giving an unbalanced gameplay for a few weeks. alot of ground troops and only 1 or 2 capitals available for planet bombardment aint really good plus we all know fps games on the pc is way too easy. consoles give a little more challange, plus alot more people will get mad when it goes wrong, damage or utterly destroy their ps3, so they need to buy a whole new console.

I think all of you who think that the Dust-Eve connection will mean Eve players having free reign to nuke all the dustbunnies from orbit using dreads are sadly mistaken. CCP's not going to sell a game where you'll be gankable right from the beginning by the invisible hands of gods.

Besides, there are planetside guns that can pop your dreads, too.

Bottom line is - Dust is coming, its an expansion of EvE as well, yes you'll need a PS3 to play it, or you'll need to learn to respect and get along with console gamers. You'll need em in your corps if you want to hold sovereignty.

Adapt or die, pod people. The Dust-bunnies are coming.


On second thought - maybe I should just let everyone think that Eve players > dust players in every way.....I'd love to see all of you park your dreads alongside planets come Dust launch day hoping for a random gank. I'd love to farm some dread killmails!

I'd love to try it, but alas, I'll not be buying a PS3 just to do so. I already only play one game on my 360, which collects dust(no pun intended) for 98% of my gaming time. I'll pass on coughing up another $400 up front to play one game.

lol, you are right about that. just like modern warfare 3, you must earn arial support by either capturing special points on the map, or by exellent performance.

Give the whole "console kiddies" argument a rest.

Just because there are more children on consoles doesn't mean that every user is an 11 year old. Besides, 90% of the PSN community does not own a microphone for their PS3 so you will never know their age.

You laugh now, as will many others, but really in the end this whole experiment will sink or swim depending on whether the EvE community can get over its smug sense of superiority and the idea that PC gamers are somehow higher nerd-life-forms than console gamers.

The two games will be reliant on each other - if the EvE community shuns the Dust community, EvE will become broken as well.

I have faith though that most EvE players are pretty level-headed and will embrace this for its added depth and new, emergent gameplay, as well as the opportunity to get more players into EvE who may have a taste from picking up Dust..
