Similar addresses to elsewhere, however when I use a web tool to look up cdn1.eveonline.com I get as stated earllier, it appears to not succeed in looking it up, but does succeed with other domains (I picked a lookup service at random, so no idea what it's using for DNS).

I still am stuck at 0%. I've also tried getting in to eve via my tablet which was working fine a couple of days ago (albeit slowly as it's woefully underpowered for eve) and same problem there.

Traceroute which earlier had lots of timeouts in the route is now completing to a completely different destination at cloudfront without any timeouts.

C:\Users\Velvet>tracert cdn1.eveonline.com

Patch is now completing and logging me in! Cloudfront buggered then?

I'm happy that you've managed to get past it.
There haven't been service issues that they have reported, since the issue with BT earlier this week.

If anyone else is continuing to have issues with 0% patching, a tracert / nslookup might help me if you're able to provide it.

In case it's relevant to others, I'm not a BT internet user (but that's not to say my traffic might not route via BT on it's way to cloudfront), my ISP is Zen Internet in the UK. Earlier trace showed traffic leaving the Zen network by a couple of hops before disappearing in null responses.

You can get SoftEther. It is a free VPN software and gives you access to a world-wide network of free VPN servers. It implements a virtual network card on your PC and routes all traffic over one of the VPN servers (of your choosing) and thereby makes your PC (or rather your IP traffic) appear to be located in a different country. While it is a bit of a shady technique (it can be used to get around IP bans) can it help to work around issues with local and global ISPs.

I have now simply reinstalled the game (twice) and it is now working.

Because it looks it is not actually a problem caused by CCP, but by UK's ISPs should you try to reboot your PC and router and try again.

You can also try to flush your DNS cache in Windows with: “ipconfig /flushdns” (run as admin).

If this still fails then try the trick with a VPN connection.

Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling.

Installed the most recent launcher, but the problem remains the same. The launcher reports launching for about 10 seconds and then returns to "play" state. The exefile process has to be stopped via task manager. Now going third day with this same problem.

This is same for so many people and i think there are 2 distinct problems

1. some people can't patch

2. some people have patched but the character selection screen will not load

nobody is advising about problem 2

It's very likely that you have a file that's corrupt, and that if you've otherwise successfully patched to the latest version, then running rescache.exe should fix it. We put out a fix to rescache today (I believe) that fixed an issue which may have prevented it from repairing corrupted files. You do not need to download everything when asked.

Okay will try when i get home, for the record i ran rescache and it downloaded everything fine.

But when the launcher runs the exefile.exe it then seems to never display the toon selection screen.

I must be way too into this game to be debugging installs i would normally just move on and play something else Pirate

Just tried this again and still no connection, launcher says "Launching..." thinks for 15-20 seconds then reverts back to "Play" status with no character selection screen.

I have had this problem for more than two days now. Rescache reports 0 files corrupt or missing, ran it twice today after dt.

I tried to import the pathc (I have been all day)

similair issue, gets to like 7%, then pauses and reverts to 0%, did it a few minutes ago, it failed again. I tabbed out to do something else, but when I got back, an 'Exception' window with text came up, with options: ok or start eve: http://pastebin.com/Trj8izAJ

Same issue as everyone else, is it all Uk side? and is everyone else having the launcher hang up as well and having to task manager it to close it down?

Got the Launcher to get to "Client ready" by deleting the Launcher file, running repair.exe and then downloading and placing the patch file as provided on Google by the poster in the other thread (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=442757)

However, while the launcher seems to be working, the client never starts. The only way I can start the client is by using the exefile.exe in the bin folder. Started that way, client is fine.

So, yes, part two of today's challenge is still a problem.
