I don't understand the thinking behind posts like this. Eve is a subscription game, not free to play. Every sub lost is a direct hit to the company's bottom line. How is telling people to go away and not play going to help short or long term?

Maybe the company should put that in their ads: "The current players do not want anyone else to join!"

This is basically the question of what's more important: Making a Game that will appeal to as many people as possible, or making a game that is enjoyable to those who play. The former will usually result in a game, that is kind of wishy-washy, a jack of all trades and a master of none. Kind of nice, but forgettable. The latter more often than not brings forth a game that appeals only to some. Many people will never know it even exists, and it will most likely die at some point, but those few who actually like it, will probably always remember the times they had.

Few people ever excel in more than just a few, very narrow fields. Some are great artists, mechanics, scientists or doctors. Pretty much nobody is all of that at once. The same goes for games.

I would rather see Eve die and CCP move on to other things than to see Eve turn into a nondescript, suitable-for-the-masses type game.

In a world, where growth and profit counts above all else, the latter kind is pretty rare, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't have a place in said world.

It is a valid complaint, but not one based on "fairness", but as how I read it, just in playstyle?

I actually agree with that neg sec people shouldn't have empire faction station access in lowsec. What I think is that those in good standings with a pirate npc faction gain access to special pirate havens. These are deadspace pockets with acceleration gates only usable by pirate players. These havens would have a station, and structures like a jump gate that do not show any map.

To enhance the pirate untracability, these points can move about, so always new connections to prevent anti pies from having easy camps.

To quote Lfod Shi

The ratting itself is PvE. Getting away with it is PvP.

To those who remain, have fun. I may check back again in a year or two, if the game is still running.

if you are not willing to learn how to play the game then please,, don't check back in a year or two. please stay away.

Don't be so obtuse. Everyone wants more players in the game. But we don't want players who want to change the game to suit their preconceived ideas of what an MMO should be.

I wanna join up. I think I got what it takes to be a Citizen.

It is all a matter of target audience. Eve used to be targeted to a more general player base. Now it is aiming for the demographic highlighted by the posters in this thread. Players interested in fun games should look elsewhere.

I only had two accounts and unfortunately I resubbed both for one month. Could have gotten several steam games with that money :(

Eve was never targeted at a general audience numbnuts, you could always be podded in low sec, wherever. Try playing WOW, that's more your type of game I think but maybe you are just a poor troll. Sad.

The company doesn't develop game just for your benefit Lord High and Mighty, the company doesn't want idiots playing because those idiots will then drive the decent players away, until all that is left are self-entitled numbnuts and then the company will become bankrupt.

Who cares about being podded these days anyway? You don't have to buy a new clone, the only loss is if you had implants. I myself preferred the old way, where you had to pay for a new clone. You took a double-whammy slap up the side of the head. Which made you sort of have a real sci-fi clone transferral experience.

Even better than that was when creepy AURA also used to laugh at you. "Oh, you foolish pilot....!" You have your ship loss, your pod activation cost, and a sexy British babe voice laughing at you. The last one counts as two, so quadruple whammy.

By the way, do you still lose SP if you're podded and your clone isn't upgraded?

Only a Rookie calls Eve Online a ......"Game."

A Video Game is defined as a form of entertainment where the User engages in predetermined acts such as fighting various monsters for better potions and to advance in skill points. Where the only interaction is between the User and the elements of the game that cannot be programmed or altered based on out side factors, such as User X coming in and stealing you coins.

An Environment however is when the User is immersed into a situation where they come across User X in Null and either or destroyed thus causing a Butterfly Effect to occur that would not have occurred otherwise in the static game setting.

Evolve your gaming experience and step into the Environment of New Eden.
