You can try talking down to me if you want but it doesn't change the fact that you don't know what you downloaded onto your pc and you certainly won't be able to call them to account for any wrong doings.

Indeed, while it may work fine, if it's not from an official source it's not getting installed.

Wonder how long it's going to be before we get a CCP comment to even acknowledge there's an issue.
Oh well at least it's not as bad as boot.ini was I guess.

If you are still having problems use the Repair tool and then bin/exefile.exe and you will never have to worry about fail launchers ever again.

Below is a link to CCP's page with the fixed repair tool after they broke it in Carnyx.

You don't need to do step 1 or 2 just download the patch and import the patch using the launcher cog top right corner and go to downloads import.

How do I run the repair tool, if not through the launcher? (cant run the launcher after deleting the launcher folder).

launcher has its own directory delete that then run repair tool from main folder in eve

Only way I got it working was a full uninstall and they re-installing.
None of the methods listed worked.

Deleted the Launcher folder, ran the repair tool and downloaded and placed the patch file from the Google page.

Results:

Launcher runs but the client never starts.

Client can now be started from the exefile.exe in the bin folder.

So, Launcher - some progress, not stuck, but won't actually launch the client.

Client can however be launched successfully from the backdoor.

Now, to get the two to work together.

Thanks for that fix...

I'm fuming at CCP here, two days in a row they have made me search for fixes for this stupid launcher...

How can they expect to retain new players? I'm already hooked to the game, but if I was a trialing new player? No way would I subscribe to this game.

Followed the recommendation of deleting the Launcher folder, running repair tool, downloading patch file, etc.

Had the same result as Valongo - Launcher functions but character selection screen never appears.

Nothing changed after DT today.
