I came back to eve, after a short spell on the sidelines, and will probably leave the game alone going forward, The reason I left in the first place is the same reason I realized i have to forget the game altogether..., its hard to break into, the abbreviations, the Alliances all of it, no disrespect to the developers or the vets, Im sure most people online have fun, but i guess it takes a good working knowledge to be able to get lost in the eve world or maybe I'm just too old to get it. ..yeah I'll go with that. as a more likely reason :/ I did meet some really nice people though and im sure theres thousands more, I hope everyone keeps flying safe and most of all has fun,

My Thanks to everyone within the game.

I hope you've taken the time to try some of the groups and corporations within New Eden that pride themselves on training new players. Or, tried groups that do their best to integrate players into the world; your EVE-U's of the world.

They generally do a pretty good job of getting you "into" the community regardless of your background.

Failing that however, it's sad to see players leave the community. I hope you reconsider.

I am going to move this to OOPE.

Sorry Tanner, but rules clearly dictates UAE as the sole heir.

Op, you should check the newbie corps before you call it quits.
Some of them are Eve University, Pandemic Horde are Karma Fleet. There are more but those are the largest

Wut? Didn't you just sell this character a few days ago in the bazaar? Received the ISK and all that? Or are you the one that just bought the industrial alt and are now giving up? *looks confused*

If it fell apart for you or something, being the original owner, I'd suggest forgetting about industrial and go with the flow and training a combat pilot, never too late to start. That's really more the focus of EVE, and where the fun is. Takes time to adjust, I still learn things after quite a few years (longer than this character), which is what makes this sandbox sim so good. Industrials tend to burn out, not an easy game for them, less rewarding.

If you are just still waiting for the transfer, would seem sort of low to smear the characters name with quit threads now, let alone why you would quit after receiving this ISK...

If you are the guy it was transferred to, er you must be a special nowflake in some f2p mmo somewhere with impulse buying and then impulse quitting. Mostly why those games exist, make some corporate money. I'd suggest settling down with one game, and EVE has an actual veteran community that isn't rotating between games every couple months so you may make actual friends... well friends you should not trust Blink

That's the thing I hated about f2p's when some of my secondary games switched over, everyone coming and going, doing the internet smorgasbord of the gaming scene. Gets old really fast.

I'm in it for the money

Sorry if i offended anyone with my posting, it was not my intention, i dont belong to any other mmo or f2p, i know eve is probably the best game to play online, i met some really nice people and got some really good tips on playing, i cant thank enough to those that has helped me so far, the corp i belong to is fantastic, i just dont want to waste anymore of anyone elses time and ruin their gaming experience by answering rookie questions every two minutes, it's not fair to them. Thank you everyone and i hope eve continues to expand for everyone for many more years to come.

Yeah, I also feel game is harder than few years earlier. More playstyles you try to sink into, other than missioning, harder it becomes. More skillpoints did not change that feeling. Ugh

If they found it unfair it is highly likely something would have been said. Shame you're leaving because you think you're a burden. We were all asking newbro questions at one time.

My god if my Corp got tired of rookie questions they would have shot me in the ass quite some time ago.

And you age sure ain't the problem sense I started this game some six months or so ago and just celebrated my 60th

Or mourned it actually

But heck being a noob ain't no reason to quit...or there would not be anyone playin.

Just some thoughts from a cranky ol fart.

no its not my corp, definitely not, they are great.. and id recommend the corp to anyone, i have an alt i created 2 years ago when i first joined.. and just mined hi sec.. i knew enough to mine but kept getting ganked, asked to duel saying no and getting ganked anyway without even setting a lock on anyone, but i figured getting ganked was part of the game anyway, so maybe id buy a new toon and try with one with different skill sets might help me learn another side to the game..hence this toon.. which it did but just kept being cannon fodder.. been playing for 2 years never placed a lock on anyone, tried joining a few of the noob corps but all that happens is i reply to emails every other day then get rejected which leaves me lost.

It just seems like the gulf between noobs and vets is getting wider with less inbetween and the agent missions don't really prepare you for the eve space where the fun is? just my opinion, as for my corp great bunch of guys and the most helpful since i started eve.. so hats off to them.. i just didn't like askimg people with every question i had due to embarrassment of being a noob..

im donating everything i have to my corp cause they have been the best..

this is an illutstion and you need to break yourself of this mentality.

the gulf between noobs and vets is in your mind.

not asking questions is also a mental issue on your part. That is like saying 'i just got this new job, i have no idea how exactly this company does this job, but shucks i'm gonna keep my mouth shut, not ask a questions and hope for the best." this is a dumb attitude. you should not be embarrassed about aksing questions. EVERYONE at one point was a noob. And there are zero dumb questions.

Break out of that mentality and you will actually find enjoyment here. or don;t and quit. no skin off my nose either way.

sounds like you need a better corp

this is probably the truth, its my personality that i feel bad for the guys i have to pepper with questions.. but everyone on eve ive met has been helpful.. just its a steep incline..for those that manage to grind through it the rewards are fun but.. with a game as complex as EVE, when given the choice of doing anything you want, new players find themselves completely indecisive or afraid to do anything at all.. and thats where i am.

Eve is a rich full game and simply the best mmo ever envisioned.. for all you guys i hope it continues for a long time so you can see new follow in your footsteps.

The quote below more or less sums up the reason why im failing...the pilot hit the nail on the head.. thanks for getting to the main problem.. my corp members are guys id love to meet for a drink and a laugh.. friendly and helpful.. the quote below is the real crux of the matter. .

So... why don;t you try narrowing your scope. Don;t do everything in eve, find one thing you might think is fun, and go from there. Thats how you learn. I was overwhelemd in 04 when i came here, someone suggested i just try and mine, cause i enjoyed that in another game. So thats what i focused on, i enjoyed it. Then overtime i went 'huh whats that?' and tried something else, evetually through a bunch of random things led me to leading two failed alliances, owning 0.0 space, living in wh;s etc. EVE is first and formost a game. The point is to have fun. Due to it being open there are TONS of ways to have fun. Find something small try it, as questions, learn it, and then branch out. Giving up cause your drowning is not the good either. *shrugs*

Natalia, i really feel sad that we can't encourage you to stay. Sad

You noticed that EvE is indeed not for everybody, it is very complex, deep and sometimes disturbing but also wonderful at once. But for me at least it's the reason why i have no more room for other games and a little bit its kind of a second life for me. I meet great people in here and even some honest friendships.

I enjoyed it much to guide you through the things in EvE, even if your membership within 4CARL did not last very long. At somepoint it was even funny to see when you have been amazed when i made your ship auto allign or warp. :) I still hope you add me on facebook as i'd like to stay in contact. Please do so.

We much appreciated your donation to the corp and i promise we do something good with it, like i told you in our last conversation - supporting others that are in need of a helping hand.

When ever you feel like you want to come back and give EvE another try, i would be uber happy if you choose my corp mates and me to call us again your home.

Best Regards,

Careful Code, you actually sound like you care about this game and its players...

As to OP, I can honestly say I've quit EvE more times than smoking. I finally left smoking behind 3 years ago but EvE never goes away for me. Here's a little thought for you; I suck at PvP. Mining is boring as all hell. Missions, meh. Incursions, I just can't seem to get into them. You know what I do? I sit in newb corp chat or help channel or local in newb systems and answer whatever questions I have an answer for. I offer to help on missions with newer players that just can't seem to rescue that damsel or break that tank on ...Is it Tristan in that one SoE mish? I just came back after a year break, I can't remember crap these days.

Anyway, as much as you think people may have grown tired of your questions, other people in game *ahem* find that answering questions is about the only thing keeping us here anymore. Well that's speaking for myself, obviously.

You'll be back O_o
