Again stuck at creating patch 0.0% 3 days this has been going on. First time I had to do full reinstall of eve to fix the issue first time. Yesterday thankfully the repair tool worked and fixed it. But again another patch same problem. I've tried all your suggestions and refuse to reinstall the game again sick of losing all my settings get this sorted CCP you've borked something badly for a lot of your players.

Same issue as everyone else, downloaded and fresh installed, cleared cache and tried again, deleted completely and re-installed, NOTHING is working, still stuck on 0.0% Creating Patch... grr


**Update** - I uninstalled eve completely, installed fresh and opened the game from the exefile in x86 > CCP > EvE > bin > exefile, I am now in game but this bypasses the patch completely so not sure.. all i know is im in game =p

**Update 2** Ive also noticed that once I'm IN game through this backdoor approach, I can THEN open the launcher and it patched fine..... hope this helps someone

Go into your Application Data directory in your user directory and look there for the settings to EVE. For Windows Vista does this look something like this:

AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings

Either copy it to somewhere save or renname it into "settings.old" so you can copy it back once you have reinstalled the game.

Apart from that can I only draw my hat to CCP for their flawless performance on destroying my game. I did not have a chance and their e-war rendered all my tools useless. Good fight!

I found a way around the Black screen issue if anyone is still having issues with it.

Step 1 (optional but I recommend it as I did this and it worked)

Delete eve from the computer

Step 2:

Reinstall

Step 3:

Run the recache.exe in the CCP folder (Note: you will get error and probably a lot of missing files this is ok)

Once this part has finished running open the eve launcher

Step 4:
Run the Eve repair tool from launcher

Once this is finished close out everything then reopen and enjoy. I will say the game feels a bit strange to play after I did this, such as more pop in from objects and my overview responses but was able to play for a good 4 hours last night.

Deleting and reinstalling eve works....

Didn't work for me. Multiple re-installs and I even did a complete dry install from the downloaded payloads.

No need for us to reinstall the game, I smell free sp, make it happen CCp,

Plz shut eve down and fix problem,

CCP its not client side because it patched yesterday were all having the same problem , so what wrong ?

I finally managed to get 1 copy of a launcher to download the latest patch, which I then used to patch the other client copies on both machines.

To get there though I had started a copy of the Launcher and when it loaded and the bottom bar said "initializing" I would click on it every couple of seconds until it went to "creating patch". I would continue clicking every couple of seconds until it gave the error message that it couldn't connect to "//cdn1." and that I should check my internet connection.

Then I would open a different copy of the launcher and try again. Eventually after trying this about 3 dozen times on 2 computers, one finally went from "creating patch" to "downloading patch". It took about 20 times longer to d/l than a file that size normally would but it finally finished and installed and I got the blue "Client Ready" notice.

Did run into an issue though. Minor one. A couple of the clients installed normally and I logged in to verify it was working properly then logged out. When I went to log in again the launcher went into the "initializing" mode again. I quickly went into the menu and had it re-import the patch and install it and everything worked.

A direct link (that actually worked) to the patch would have made things so much quicker, easier, less stressful and only mildly annoying.
