We will not surrender to the Drifters. Not now, not ever. It is not what she would want.

Lady Rkard,

I was saddened and disapointed to have read your original post. Surrender is not an option I feel Drifters will accept. However, I am happy to see Bishop Amalath managed to help you see the error of your thinking. I understand this is a time of grief and fear for some, but we must unite. We must unite and find a way to crush the Drifter menace.

The Empress' death has left in me a fury. A righteous fury. It will not be satisfied until this threat is removed completely from the Cluster for all of time.

When it comes to a force that makes no demands, accepts no quarter and Murders the Empress of our Holy Empire.

There will be no quarter.

Citizens of the Kingdom stand shoulder to shoulder with the Empire in their grief, but also their desire for vengeance.

I personally hold no bitterness or ill will to those among the other Empires who rejoice at this terrible loss. For they are without forsight and understanding, all they see if this powerful bringer of light and hope covered and defeated.
What they FAIL to see, is the dark and dangerous precedent it may have set.

You laugh and rejoice for the loss of the most powerful woman in New Eden, yet you should look to your Elders and leaders for should they fall after you laugh. There will be no remorse or condolences, only harsh reminders of the days you laughed at us.

Lady Rkard,

Remember that there are also other ways...

Defending against them is fine tactically... But until now it has proven nothing, if not that the results are rather poor.

Understanding what lies behind, should not be swept aside. This is what truly matters.

I will never surrender my freedom, or that of another.

Given that we as yet have no indication of what the Drifters actually want this is a moot point.

Wait, she was serious? I thought the OP was a tongue-in-cheek attempt to channel this biting satire of mass media journalism from some years ago.

You didn't falter, Jade. You were honest. You're the most honest and open person I know. The moment happened, and you didn't hide it. That's a good thing :)

Our name is Jade, and we have barely been in Empire a decade, Emancipated for much less than that. At the keel-laying, we saw how small our ship was next to the Empress's Avatar, and how absolutely massive and safe it was, millions of tons of Tritanium wrapped around Jamyl I so that nothing could touch her. At the unveiling of Auctoritas, the Seraph was surrounded by loyalist guns facing outward in every direction, the Imperial Navy as its halo, and despite these precautions she was vaporized in mere seconds.

The Drifter attack was a headshot. Their game of chess never involved breaking down the pawns or rooks, all of whom were willing to lay down their life for the Empress, but to skip all the steps and reach checkmate. The attack was so devastating, the Seraph's Tritanium went white hot and the emanations seeped through our own bulkheads, as we were incredibly close. The goo in our Pod felt like it was boiling. This nuclear strike invalidates the thousands upon millions of ammunition rounds and crystals and hulls and bodies thrown at this war. We find ourself demoralized and hopeless.

There are Matari who may celebrate her death, but we find no insult in their jubilation. Let the vultures circle about as Champions and Successors. We find ourself perched precariously on the edge of the abyss. Our Faith melted away with the Seraph and in our kneeling position we have all but resigned to facing Drifter Prime and bowing our head to the floor in surrender.

Is it coincidence after this public cowardly act of treason to all the humanity of New Eden, the Drifters, no doubt bolstered by the idea that capsuleers would quickly surrender to them have upped their aggression to the system wide Incursion level?

You are all of course free to embrace and forgive this traitor to all humankind if you wish, I can not join you in that act.

But as the battles draw nearer to all we hold dear, answer this question, will you entrust the fate of your loved ones to Jade?

How often do the medbay techs drop your clone on its head while it's in rapid-growth cycle?

Never more than twice daily, same as your techs do with you. Pirate

Drake Ashigaru ... Matar Ronin's alliance.

Huh. I've started to like him a little. I'd have thought one of his people would have a more sympathy for an emancipated slave's situation, though.

Still, it's plain enough why you'd want to create divisions within the Empire. Maybe harming her is okay in your eyes if it works towards that greater goal.

So, how about this by way of compromise, pilot:

I forgive her ... and I don't forgive you.

Do you speak for your Alliance or corp?
Do they control your every word?
If not why would you expect that of another?

If you wish to attack Matar do it directly capsuleer to capsuleer. If you wish to disagree with my distaste for cowards freely do so.

In this moment of threat to humanity we all should know where the others stand.

I flew to Safizon and placed a memorial depot for the "Crew Of The Seraph" because some moments in time eclipse politics and humans need to stand together. It was shot out of space by some idiot claiming to be a Sefirim. So pardon me if I am in no mood to coddle those willing to bow before the mass murdering Drifters.

I can maybe guess who that was.

A couple people seem to have fractured a little under the strain of recent events. Probably there are other cracks we just haven't seen yet.

Eventually, I probably will. I'm no good at grudges.

You cannot surrender to a force that does not demand it.

They have asked for nothing. So there can be no terms.

So until such time as the Drifters care to communicate, I would look at them like I look at drones.

Uh... I can see your point but... I think we are talking about surrender, not tactical retreat from a battle...
