Hi all,

First, I have to say I am still having fun. I tend not to think about things I can't do due to lacking skills or funds, I prefer to enjoy those areas of Eve universe that are accessible for me at this moment.

From very beginning I decided to do a little of roleplaying and go pure Minmatar so no cross training, just what my race has to offer. For now it means only rifters and thrashers but I like those ships a lot and have a blast using them.

I don't care about my killboard because I don't feel like I have to prove anything to anybody. My fun is what matters, others can go and f**k themselves if they don't like it.

During first weeks I went into lowsec and had fun with Tuskers. Lost bunch of fights to them and got a lot of know-how. And every opponent was a source of tips and advice and sometimes even small donations.

Then I trained Corporation Management skill and created my own corp. Just out of curiosity how it is to be a CEO. To be honest nothing special about it in my case but I set my tax at 100% and corp wallet is collecting all bounties from rats now. Taxes I pay to myself are good taxes :)

I also did a little exploration but at that moment my skills were not so good so I put it on hold for now. Definitely want to come back to this activity later.

For a week or so I played with miners in hisec, stealing their rocks and messing with their armed friends. Lost an indy due to my greed when tried to steal all ore from their cargo can but that's part of fun and learning process. Next time I will just steal whole container :)

Until now all my fun was funded with one PLEX I sold just after subscribing. Now it is all gone but I still have few ships and modules scattered here and there. I could sell my second PLEX but I thought it is a good opportunity to get into missions and see what it is all about.

So I took my thrasher, found level 1 agent for Brutor Tribe and started missioning. I also trained social skills to help with standings and pretty quickly got into level 2. Yesterday I got into level 3 missions and have to say that I like income from them :) I still do them in my thrasher which is not really efficient but at least it demand some attention. Yesterday I did Downing slavers mission and it took six warpouts to kill all rats and report success.

Missions are getting boring even with new harder challenges so probably I will soon drop it and move to something else. Still got few rifters to lose and my skills got better since last time I was in lowsec so that is most probable direction for few next weeks.

All this long post has one purpose: get other newbies some idea what they can do. At first fitting is a nightmare because near every module causes problem with lack of skills. But don't let it stop you from discovering what is possible. Even if you can't fit something that does not mean that you can have fun.

Get into rookie ship, set destination to some far system and see how far will you get before somebody will blast you. And don't go crazy about it, put a smile on local. And if they pod you it is your gain - they saved you a long trip back in your capsule. Just remember to always upgrade your clone after that.

If you want to sink into Eve universe go and read guides while waiting for skill to finish. Read forum, google jargon and abbreviations, visit failheap website and browse fits submitted there.

Don't let others dictate your game. You want to mine then mine, want to fly Tengu - train towards it, want to be a pirate - go and start fights to have a taste how it feels like to see you ship melt.

Haters gonna hate, gankers gonna gank, whiners gonna whine - deal with all s**t with smile and just play you game as you like.

There is as much fun in Eve as you allow it to be, don't spoil it to yourself.

Ahh it's so good to see the devs out there enjoying their own game for once ;)

And a sudden plunge in the sullen swell. Ten fathoms deep on the road to hell.

Good post. Ignore the douchebag's who accuse you of being a CCP alt...it's just their lame attempt at humor (hint guys: that's a cliche by now).

Aww and it was my first attempt at it too..

More meant it as commentary that your post reads like an advertisement, and seeing as there have been a few similar posts of the same style, in beautifully written posts, which seems out of place in the community as a whole.

Usually we aren't so eloquent.

One thing we do like to do here is :tinfoil hat: everyone is either a dev alt or a goon spaii, so which are you ;)

umadbro?

Well, since English is not my native language I tend to mask my grammar deficiencies with vocabulary :)

Pretty funny that I tend to get quite a lot of "dev alt/goon alt" accusations, can it be only because I use words instead of lols and emo **** all over my post? Torch wielding crowd seems to like elaborated whining threads so why go redneck towards happy people's posts?

But I don't mind your trolling, I am such attention wh**e.

English, not your native language? PROOFS! OP IS ICELANDIC.

In all honesty welcome to eve! I may even see you in tuskers chat :)

Good to see a newbie taking some initiative and experiencing the game fully. I did many of the same things myself and
It's a great way to get into the game. I've read some of your other posts on these forums over the last months and I'm glad to see you went out and had a good time. Keep it up, and perhaps think about joining a real corp - it can make your experience even more enriching when you fly with more people.

Not really in my schedule for now, I enjoy my solitude. Probably I am missing a lot of MMO part of Eve but don't care. I shoot or steal or run from pixels driven by real people and that's enough for me right now. Maybe later when I run out of ideas what to try next I will search for some fellowship. My plan is to try every aspect of Eve universe so joining a real corp is somehow mandatory. Just not now.

I think that biggest mistake newbies do is trying to play others game. Ok, I fly rifters like any other rookie but other than that I don't follow anybody. I ask questions, I listen to advice, I learn from others but in the end I make decisions what/when/how I do. It does not make me special, it just makes me feel good.
