I had a brief chat with CCP today in the Help channel, and they seemed unaware that several music tracks have been missing ever since the jukebox was removed. Whether they are simply not playing or they have been removed from the game files is not clear. I said I would make a thread here listing all the missing tracks, and they said they'd bring it up with the team. I know there's a Soundcloud with all the tracks on, but it would be so much better to hear the tracks back in the game Big smile

Off the top of my head, here are some tracks I know to be missing:

Below The Asteroids
Surplus Of Rare Artifacts
Miner Stories
I Saw Your Ship

Tracks which I think are missing but not 100% sure:

Merchants, Looters and Ghosts
It Ends Here
Nouvelle Rouvenor Hero
Smoke From Down Below

If anyone could add to the list that would be great. Also if you're certain I've made a mistake please tell me and I'll remove it from the list.

This is, excuse my language, goddamn outrageous! Supported all the way.

Wrong forum though, I think.

Is this in the wrong section? I mailed the two ISD forum mods but neither of them have replied.

Well, if they were intentionally removed, this would be the right forum.
If it's not intentionally, it should be under Issues/Workaround/Localization.

But since we don't know if it's intentional or not, I'd say it's the right one
Now, the obligatory "EVE has sound?".
I haven't really noticed that it's gone since I listen to my own music, but there is no reason why it should be gone.
I do remember one in the Rookie Channel around a year ago mention the beauty of the soundtrack she heard, which happened to be Below the Asteroids-

Well, I reported the thread and messaged two ISDs with no response from anyone, so I guess it's staying here.

Anyway, if anyone could add to the list or highlight mistakes I would be grateful.

If this even gets looked at! Please add new music when flying in wormholes! Smile

Are those tracks on CCP's SoundCloud page? I'm not able to load their page on my tablet right now, so can't tell.

A few of those listed are the heart and soul of the game, music wise. Removing them is pretty much blasphemy and showcases a lack of understanding about what EVE is and was.

And this is why the jukebox was removed, because it was old spaghetti monster code full of unintended consequences and a nightmare to update. As shown by the fact removing it somehow deleted some tracks.

Funny man, but no.

They have a habit of removing things from the game, and putting those resources on third party websites, in order to make things "easier" on them, ostensibly so they can focus on making the game eve online, even though its really finished.

One day, all of eve online will have to be accessed through third party websites. They'll probably put combat sounds on soundcloud next, and remove those from the game as well. That's the way CCP, in its lack of understanding, does things.

I started eve in mid 2000's and the music was amazing. Now its dull, repetitive, and lacks control. "But you can just manually manipulate it out of game in a browser!". Yeah, that's efficient for me as a player, and not enjoyable to alt+tab every few minutes, when I could have tiny screen in game to control the music.

Don't kid yourselves. Even the dirtiest pirates from the birth of EVE have been carebears. They use alts to bring them goods at cheap prices and safely, rather than live with consequences of their in game actions on their main, from concord to prices

Chiming in just to leave a link for those who might be hunting for these and other Eve music. I don't know if that's all of them, but it has more than I thought existed, even login screen and some trailer songs.

BM it, it's a pretty nifty site.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

I have not listened to the music in Eve since late 2007, when I started turning it off so I could hear people talk on fleet comms. Thank you for reminding me that Eve had great tracks like this!

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Miner Stories was the first EVE music I ever heard, when I was a brand-new capsuleer. I would love to hear it in game again!

I just get the same track playing over and over and over and over again

the only reason it stops playing is because I
a) use an acceleration gate
b) exit the game

I honestly didn't think there was any music in EVE anymore so I'm not sure why you are asking for specific tracks to be reinstated. There are sound effects in the background most notably in the Amarrian & SoE NPC stations but in most other areas such as mission deadspaces, asteroid belts etc there is next to no sound effects bar the interactions between ship systems and the game environment/other ships.

I think it's been like this since the orchestra played the songs from EVE at Fanfest and then the jukebox was dropped in the dustbin. The phrase 'EVE has sound?' is therefore sadly still true. Sad

" They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out. " Rick. " Find out what ? " Abraham. " They're screwing with the wrong people. " Rick. Season four.   ' The Walking Dead. ' .

List of missing tracks.

Stellar Shadows (Was not in the original jukebox, but a login screen track, added later to jukebox ca 2006-2007)
Below the Asteroids
Surplus of Rare Artifacts
Green Nebula
Merchants, Looters and Ghosts
Eve of Battle
I Saw Your Ship
Theme Of The Universe
Rose of Victory
Smoke From Down Below
All Which Was Lost Has Now been Regained
It Ends Here
Shifting The Balance Of Power
Theme From Jita

They aren't missing from the game, but play only in heavily populated areas.

We are thinking of adding (yet another) menu option just to play the old jukebox songs no matter where you are located or what is happening in the game. How does that sound to you all ?

My workaround was downloading every track from soundcloud and play them in foobar2000.

Problem was that I don't like the dungeon music (sounds like pr0n music sometimes, can't have that while concentrating on flying a spaceship). But muting just dungeon music suppresses also the normal music whenever you enter a deadspace pocket via gate and after 5 minutes or so of silence the normal music suddenly resumes.
