Surely you can just fit a web to your Citadel and then web the ******, then pop her? That's how a POS deals with them AFAIK.

The webs have 150km ranges, I've kited out POSes that I caught just being set up and had a handful of loaded guns till their guns had no more ammo.

What it boils down to: I will not put my stuff into a structure that one bored nerd could destroy over a weekend if I didn't log in. There is simply no incentive to expose it to further risk. I will use a POS until there are no POSes, then I will quit EVE, if CCP doesn't fix the fundamentally dumb idea that Entosis represents.
You need to think more evil, Citadels can use drones. Just imagine webbing someone and then swarming them with a flight of drones. Twisted

a lot of the concerns people have about these new structures would probably be eased if they would just let them fire without being manned like current poses do, at least that way they would have to have some level of *effort* to try and do something about the citadel if you are off doing more interesting things during your prime time.

i do like how the vulnerability is based on weekly blocks instead of daily blocks. hopefully if ccp insists on digging their heels in on this whole weird no automation on citadels plan the low amount of hour blocks on mediums can be managed.

Citadels should be what they are. The word conjures up a defensive tower of might, not an image of a helpless boxing bag.

That issue isn't what really bothers me though.

I want to be excited about having the proprietorship of a little piece of space, in which I can muck around with creating things and interacting with other people via trade and transport. And not be worried about being forced to log in at certain times or worry about coming back to nothing. And while fear is a good emotional tie to keep players hooked to a game, I just don't find fear fun.

The greatest weight of interaction design is about destroying citadels.

Sure it will be fantastic fun for players who want to go around destroying other people's stuff, but it makes me feel un-yay!

Look at this ! How the hell can you not be overly excited?? Look at the damn size comparison between an Avatar and the medium citadel... Imagine how big the capital one will be!

Size is relative.

Sure big is better, and the citadels are bigger than the unfortunate acronym of POS.

But imagination is biggerer, and I think a game that lets players own a place is better than one that lets players at most rent one.

At least give them the fact that they look 1000 cooler than POSES, i dont know man a giant stick floating in space with a few bricks and a bubble araund it its kinda...antilimatic, just to give it a nice name.

Ehh one might say similar things about other mechanics...

Sounds like you can have a citadel, or you can have fun (exploding other people's citadel)
