PIE inc Statement on Last Week's Tragedy and Succession Trials

As is well known by now, the last week saw the death of our Holy Empress Jamyl I at the hands of the Drifters. The Praetoria had suspected some attempt on the Empress' life might be made and was present with a fleet of Guardians and Battleships at the scene of the disaster. Unfortunately, there is little that could be done against the firepower that the servants of evil brought to the field. They must be made to pay in full for their actions in attacking the heart of the Amarrian Empire.

A second tragedy of Friday's events was that the Empress' body was not recovered by loyalists. We would strongly suggest that whoever retrieved her remains from the field should bring the Empress' remains to the proper Imperial Authorities. PIE inc considers any failure to allow the Empress' body to be treated with dignity to be a hostile action and a blasphemy against Amarr.

We call for solidarity of all loyal Amarrians at this time of grief. We must stand together and make sure that anyone who dares to take advantage of this tragedy fails to harm the Amarrian people.

We also applaud the decision of the Court Chamberlain Pomik Haromi to announce immediate succession trial preparations. God willing, this interregnum will not be as long or destructive as the last. We place the Praetoria fully at the service of the Emperor Family authorities throughout this period.

The Praetoria does not support any individual heirs in the succession trials. As an organization we serve the Emperor Family rather than any of the Heir Families. Our pilots, however, are free to express individual preferences and to offer their services in the Succession Trials.

Amarr will overcome this time of tribulation. We shall stand together against the darkness and destroy the enemies of God.

Dear Lord Gaven Lok'ri,

Thank you for asking for her body back. I respond affirmatively to your call for solidarity.

I have been trying to find an answer to a question which I am too young and inexperienced to know the answer to, having not been old enough during either of the two previous succession trials.

I understand God chooses the victor. I also understand the tournament will happen and from that pool the most worthy will be chosen by the Heirs, and they may choose at will, the champions may not will who they will be chosen for.

Would you please tell me definately, which is better, voicing support for a potential Emperor or Empress, or keeping silent?

I have seen a lot of other Amarrians voicing support for one or another. Is this traditional, should one partake in the discussion and debate even though it is completely out of our hands? Or does God want us to talka mongst ourselves as part of the process?

Yours truly,

Ayasashi

Traditionally, Holders and commoners will of course pledge for whoever is their liege affiliated with.

For capsuleers however... It is a whole entirely different matter.

My understanding is that capsuleers will be able to choose which of the heirs they volunteer to champion. In which case, it seems reasonable for capsuleers to discuss the heirs.

I would of course suggest that the tone of such discussion should remain polite as all of the heirs are worthy by their very nature of the Imperial Throne.

Personally, I will not be indulging in such discussions. My personal loyalty is to the Emperor Family and I support the claim of all heirs equally.

I believe recent news reports some might be referencing to have been clarified. Of course these are not the official position of the Privy and Theological Council, but it's been suggested on the Galnet that one cannot nominate new persons to volunteer for being an Heir, but can pledge support to any of the current. Rumour has it that it will still ultimately be the Heirs who will pick from the pool of potential champions, but I for one think declaring support for one might increase your chances of your preffered Heir choosing you.

Regardless, my esteemed superior is correct. Regardless whom God wills to take the Throne, all of PIE will loyally serve them and all other Amarr subjects I am certain. Throne and Empire first, our Leige Heirs second.

You do honor to The Empire, let the new age and reconciliation be upon us. You may, however check the civility of tone emanating from one of your members engaged in name calling, not to me (my armor has resistances), but to others in the House Kador post, if your suggestion is firm and just.

With respectful regards.

The Empress' death does not erase your crimes against her. It does not erase those of the people who support you. This is not a new age, nor is it a reconciliation.
