Strategic Cruiser Skill, help

Hello,

I cant find this anywhere, whats the point in this skill to anything past lvl 1?

I dont understand the description of the skill bonuses which is module heat damage per skill lvl, ive never know my ships to overheat so i dont get the point of this skill? I'm new to i dont know and looked and nothing to tell me sorry

If you have the "Therodynamics" skill you can overheat your modules, which will (usually) make them more effective but they will burn out and you won't be able to use them again until you get them repaired.

With the strat cruiser skill level to 5 you can overheat your modules for longer than you could at level 1.

If you look at module descriptions it will tell you what the module does if you overheat, such as hardeners giving more resists or scrams/webs having more range.

It's not a big thing in PvE (maybe burner missions), but generally it's something you do in PvP to give you that extra edge in a close fight.
