So blatant favouritism from CCP to anyone that has good amarr standings while leaving most of Eve unable to participate? Should anyone not-amarr/caldari aligned consider themselves second-grade players?

A better way to handle this would be to just remove npc standings from the game, allowing everyone to participate, no?

I understand you concern about standings not allowing all players to take part. Unfortunately, this is a Lore-lead event. As such, the standing restrictions are essential.

Why Good Amarr Standings are Essential
This is due to player who take part in this event are directly affecting who will be come the next leader of the Faction. As such, Players with bad standing represent their loyalty to forces which are openly against the Empire. (aka Terrorist!) These forces have no place in this process.

The argument for "No standings" is the same argument that it's okay for a non-American citizen who is a part of ISIS can come visit and vote in a Presidential Election. :)

I've reviewed records from the First Amarrian Championships (2013). Players at that time were required to be of Amarr origin. The fact that a player only is required to have good standings with Amarr is quite permissive.

If you have Bad Amarr Standings
I doubt that they're going to use standings as of now. So if you want to take part in this event but don't have good Amarr Standings, you do have some time to work on this. The grind shouldn't be that bad as we've been told "Good" standings (Though I recommend getting to 1.0, with out skill boosting just to be safe!)

If this was my situation here's what I be doing:
  1. Time to come visit Amarr space and Mission run to get your standings up.
  2. If you choose to do The Sisters of Eve's Epic Arc, You choose a faction in the last combat mission to work with. There is a good bump in standings with the faction you pick. So go Amarr.
  3. Look at your social skills & Consider if you need to pick up a few levels.
  4. Eve-Uni has a great document that covers all of the skills.

Positive or non-negative? My char that I wanted to use have no standings to amarr.

So, run one storyline mission and you will have positive standings to Amarr.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

I demand that a Khanid Heir be allowed. GOD and HIS people remember the old house. We have not forgotten the grace shown by Khanid II in choosing the sanctity of life over a pointless killing in the name of 'victory'.

What say the Council to letting GOD and his courageous capsuleer fighters decide if the house of Khanid should lead?

How do we register to compete and how will the selection of participants (I imagine far more will want to compete than can compete) happen?

We'll be announcing those details at a later date, likely soon after the conclusion of the Alliance Tournament.

The Dust community requests you try to include them as many are in the works now to secure skarkon it is heavily involved in Emperean Age, is in Molden Heath and has 5 districts (for the 5 heirs) on one planet.

https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Year_YC110#Republic_Tensions

It has been 2 years since lore was incorporated the "Rouge Wedding" done to that community is overall forgiven but not including them yet again is a concern to many as it would alienate about 10 percent of a loyal population within the game.

With the positive amarr standings req, will you please finally allow the turn in of various tags to gain standing when negative?

Will Max have a horse in this race?

How many heirs are there, anyways?

There are five heirs; one for each royal house. The houses are Sarum, Kor-Azor, Kador, Tash-Murkon, and Adishapur, in no particular order. The Heirs are Merimeth Sarum, Ariticio Kor-Azor, Uriam Kador, Catiz Tash-Murkon, and Yonis Adishapur, respectively.

Max will have no horse in this race unless he tries to crash the party.

I'd like to voice my disappointment that we cannot volunteer for specific heirs. You've taken a heavily RP related event and basically excluded those who care most about the results.

Bravo.

Have fun tournament guys.

I have a feeling there's been a bit of a misunderstanding here. The statement is about you nominating additional people to be considered for the throne in the contest (I've changed the wording in the OP to make it clearer). You will be able to choose which heir you wish to offer your services to (though of course being selected by them is another matter entirely).

I too would like to know more about this event. Additionally, will this be a team tournament? Or 1v1's?

Clearly, the Heir most suited to lead the Empire is Yonis Ardishapur.

Is the Malice or Vangel permitted? Shocked It is kind of a special case but they would dominate any kind of 1v1 tournament due to the unique bonuses.
