My idea is to implement a feature that can be enabled/disabled to display the distances to the persons u have on watchlist.

No

Use a locator agent, get system, plan route...mechanic for that is already in play just because you want to be more lazy about things is no excuse for this...........

And as to blues and neutts....well you should already be in comms/chats with them....

So no you can not have this insta-win gratification be more lazy button

Not to those watchlists .
To the ones u create while being in fleet ofc. Distances would be helpfull to keep track of how far away your fc/lc etc is.

Being able to watchlist hostiles is dodgy gameplay at the best of times. You think it should be *more* effective?

Oh I see. That's fine then

This information is already displayed on the overview. I usually have one tab for blues.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

What this man said. It's generally a good idea to have many overview settings ready to load up to one of the tabs. All ships, all friendly, all hostile, all hostile & all neutral, etc.

Fight in a 250 man fleet with 2-3 support fleets and look for 3 guys in your overview. Takes some times, can be done much quicker.

Who are those 3 guys? Why should you track them during the fight? You have a broadcast and FC orders in case you are logibro. And if that's the case you would be switching fair quickly on your fleet mates which is potentially 30% of your fleet. Which means your watch list is more than 3 individuals.

"The message is that there are known knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we don't know" - CCP

1st Guy FC
2-6 guy On grid boosting Wing commanders
7-8 special snowflake Recons that cant listen to fc orders
8-10 more special snowflake Hics/Dics

Now with just 1 look at the Watchlist u can see if your Hics/Dics are still in Rep range (if you are logi bro/anchor), if someone important is running out of rep range casue anchoring is hard sometimes. Also u cant have everyone locked up akk the time to quickly check the ranges casue u need free space to actually rep someone. So as u probably noticed by now this is actually aimed to help the logis.

Holy **** are you people really trying to say "that's what your overview is for, find your WL members on the overview" ???

Really??

Reeeally???

Unbelievable.

"Who are those 3 guys? Why should you track them during the fight?"

Are you ******* kidding me? Have you heard of an "anchor"??

+0.5 sort of... because the solution to this is a major UI overhaul, as many people have suggested... letting us have multiple "overview" windows open at a time. So you can select, target, etc, from the Watchlist.

WL just needs to be a mini overview window. (Edit: with high customization, i.e. "show only these pilots")

Yeah, this.

I sometimes wonder whether the people posting negative replies to things like this have actually thought through their positions at all.

If it's too much server load, maybe we could get a settings to get one of the overview tap "watchlisted" thus giving you only those player no matter what ship they are currently in.

There shouldn't be any server load. After all, your client already knows your position and the position of everyone on grid with you so the client should be able to do the calculation of how far away the people on your watch list are.
