Hey guys

So as announced during Alliance Tournament XIII, the Amarr championships are going to happen. The Amarr championships are part of the Succession Trials used to select the new emperor of the Amarr Empire from one of the heirs of the royal houses of Amarr. We'll be announcing more details in the weeks to come once the Alliance Tournament has concluded (including things like rules and how to register), but here are the important things you need to know right now:

  • The finals will be taking place at Fanfest 2016, so you need to be able to travel to Iceland. That means you need a passport. If you are selected to participate in the finals, we'll be flying you over. This also includes accommodation and entry to Fanfest.
  • Only Amarr ships will be permitted in the tournament. More specifically, only ships that require an Amarr ships skill, and no other kind of racial ship skill will be permitted. This means all T2 Amarr ships will be allowed (including Khanid), but Sansha, SOE, and Blood Raider ships will not be permitted.
  • You will need to have unmodified standings of at least +0.5 with the Amarr Empire to participate (while agents may be placated by your carefully crafted platitudes, heirs are much too savvy to be swayed by sweet talking).
  • Your character's race does not need to be Amarrian to be able to participate.

Additionally, before anyone asks: you may not nominate an heir of your choice to be additionally considered in the succession trials.

For more details on Fanfest, visit the Fanfest site: http://fanfest.eveonline.com/

If you have more questions, feel free to ask!

How do we register to compete and how will the selection of participants (I imagine far more will want to compete than can compete) happen?

Which is to say, the Imperial Heirs are in line, but not Kesha. :x

We'll be announcing those details at a later date, likely soon after the conclusion of the Alliance Tournament.

Don't forget to reinforce the node being used for this event when it happens. I know CCP has been having some problems with that lately.

Before this gets too crazy, we should clarify that the Heirs are set. The champions will be chosen by them, we wont be able to say who we are wanting to be the heir we are fighting for. No heir for Max, for example.

Cool. So what are the prizes? Any chance that Abbadon Imperial Issue will be given to the winner?

So, this is how the Auctoritas will enter Eve? As a prize ship?

Nice to see CCP continuing to develop Eve along multiple fronts - storyline as well as adjustments to Null Sec.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

No ingame limited Imperial Issue ships as prize are needed... taking part is a reward in itself

  • You will need to have positive standings with the Amarr Empire to participate

  • /me is -10.0 to Amarr. Fortunately, I have another character who is positive towards Amarr. Looking forward to seeing how this tournament works.

I assume there will be different ship classes for each round?

At this stage, all Amarrian ships eligible to participate in the Alliance Tournament. This is not final though.

Other prizes will be announced at a later date.

Regarding the "positive Amarr standings" requirement, will it only consider the main Amarr Empire faction standing or will it require positive standings with some other houses or similar?

Will Max have a horse in this race?

How many heirs are there, anyways?

Isn't it a bit soon to call for a new head of state? The Empress (as a capsuleer) should just step out of her medical bay in her new body, shouldn't she?

Unless there have been many changes, there should currently be five heirs, that represent the five ruling families. They Ardishapur Family, the Kador Family, the Sarum Family, the Kor-Azor Family and the Tash-Murkon Family.

    Hope that helps.
