I wouldn't be surprised if she used this incident, maybe having been leaked ahead of time, to duck out so she can go make a deal with her secret ally, Sansha.

Yeah, I'd be surprised as hell if Jamyl turned out to be dead for real. In all likelihood, she's probably gotten another clone fresh out of the wrapper and is laying low somewhere (as others have just pointed out).
