-Additionally, to improve competition, reduce the number of available team slots, and alliances with more systems are given preference on entering
-To compensate, have more games between the same alliances, less single elimination
-Would give alliances reasons to seek out sov and hold more systems
-I would also increase the prize pool and give out lesser prizes even to those alliances that just made it in
-Ban any two alliances that have set each other to blue since the last tournament from both entering, with preference given to the one owning more sov
-Along similar lines, maybe have CCP fly the Alliance Tournament winners (just the pilots) to Iceland for fanfest for free as an additional motivator to enter and win

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Would be better to restrict it to alliances NOT holding sov, they already have their e-peen place on the sov map :P

*checks numbers*

*sees sov holding alliances are 15% of the accounts in the game*

*wonders how high someone is to exclude 85% of the population*

I knew there were reasons I and so many I know left Null after so much time and found fun places to live, thank you for the timely reminder.

Not supported.

AT equal to the World Cup, where Argentine could beat Jamaica 5:0 or Brazil lost to Germ 1:7.

Fair play my friend.

Sorry OP. I doubt you will get much support. You have PVP focussed alliances based in:

High Sec (Merc Alliances)
Low Sec (Faction Warfare or Pirate)
Non-Sov Null
Wormhole Space

I don't see how holding sov has anything to do with PVP ability or providing exclusive entertainment for viewers.

So basically you want PL to win every AT. I'm cool with that.

Because this game soley revolves around the politics of nulsec as there are no other areas of space where people prefer to play the game in Roll

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

As a member of a sov-holding alliance, no.

I concur. Also as a member of a Sov Holding alliance, this is a bad idea.

The Alliance Tournament is just that: the alliance tournament. Not the Sov-Holders Tournament. Its the Alliance Tournament.

So... all around: no.

Now, maybe if you suggest something like: Lets have a Winter Tournament consisting of Sov Holders... then I suggest you start planning and putting it together. See if it takes off.

Cloaking is the closest thing to a "Pause Game" button one can get while in space.

Wouldn't happen to be a jarhead by chance....present or prior active duty? I always loved the "random" drug tests after the Cobra Gold det came back form Thailand. Random as in everyone with a social ending in number from 0-9.....even us unlucky peeps who got stuck in garrison. SACO still the crap billet they give to newb SSgt's? Was when I left many moons ago lol.

But back to op.....why?

RvB runs in AT. Their whole purpose in life is to bring accessible pvp to empire. Its even "pure" pvp. No CAOD crap, almost no meta gaming crap either. They have no desire to leave empire nor do I or many want them too. When idiots complain I don't want to be a pirate, don't want 0.0, don't want WH's but I want to pvp and they have no options (usually for "arena" threads) I say well go join RVB. They imo do a pretty good job as a starting step to organized pvp for many players. IF they want to leave empire...they do it. With some good fundamentals learned from RvB.

Or...wait I know. You lost money betting against the AT only alliances that form up last year didn't you. How much money did you lose betting against Camel Empire last year?

I was just trying to think of a reason to give people to own sov who don't currently own any, since everyone complains that sov is dead because people have no reason to own it, but I see now my idea is probably not the best approach.

It's just that every other suggestion I see as well gets shot down by someone, yet everyone still complains. If you make a suggestion to nerf highsec, all of the highsec people complain that they won't make as much money anymore and will quit the game. If you make a suggestion to buff nullsec, everyone complains that you'll just help out the existing power blocs more and encourage more turtleing. Some people suggest other things, like being able to control local in nullsec or other things that make you feel like you own the space more, but none of these actually encourage anyone currently in high sec to go to nullsec, but instead just make life more enjoyable for people who already have a reason to be in nullsec.

I was trying to give people some sort of external reason to make the move from high sec to nullsec. Maybe the more reasonable answer is to have a separate tournament that follows these rules, but then, people would probably make the same complaints as in this thread.

Not everyone wants 0.0 dude. Fun fact....there are 0.0 crews who have no interest in SOV. Rote Kapelle among them. May have noticed they had a really good run in last years tournament. They would be cutoff by this bad idea, they don't do SOV.

Nullsec is not the end game to the game dude. SOV based even less so. Lose the elitism fast. Many low sec and wh people I know are former 0.0 blobbers. One too many tarded op, too much BSwith the politics. They did their time in 0.0, saw a better game in other places.

I don't do sov either, I do solo lowsec PvP.
