Perhaps a more interesting question is, how does it run on Win8?

Very well, actually.

I played for a few months on the Win8 Dev Preview.

The thing about Metro... after a few days, when I would wake the PC (sleep / wakeup times are aewsomely short) I would simply hit the desktop button on the Metro UI and then ignore it completely.

Win8 is going to be an odd release. For most users, as functionally there is very little difference from Win7, there is absolutley no reason at all to upgrade.

Win8 looks like it was designed for kindergarten or smartphones.

Plus, if Windows releases continue to follow the usual good/bad trend, it will suck goats, but Win9 will be the shiznit!

I don't often use Windows, but when I do, I use VirtualBox.

Also, for what it's worth the Windows 8 "Metro" interface is terrible and makes me want to punch baby jesus.

Considering metro is an 'add on' to the OS, and not the primary UI, I feel no animosity towards it. I don't see it as a desktop UI at all, and I don't envision even MS thinks of it as such. More accurately, I consider it a kiosk UI. Something to use in the kitchen or bedroom. It is really good at presenting quick info access - weather, financials, traffic, shopping lists, etc. It's all a matter of the right tool for the job. Standard 'Start' UI on the desktop, and 'Metro' elsewhere.

Windows 8 DOES add some other intersting features underneath - most notably is the Storage Spaces.

EVE runs better on Win7 than XP, at least from my experience on my machines. i recommend the switch!

When I need to travel for work I lug an old HP nx9420 laptop with me. By default it came with Windows XP and the last year or so XP would randomly corrupt the screen and die a horrible death. A few re-installs, nothing helped.

Switched to Windows 7 Ultimate and now? Not a hitch. Boots in seconds, runs EVE and everything is fine.

Whilst I wouldn't take that hardware into Jita necessarily, general motel-room type gameplay while waiting for next day client meetings is okay.

Do you really need to ask if a commercial product runs on the latest windows operating system - one that's not exactly new either? Some looking here might help too.

Come on - please use some common sense ShockedRoll

[fake edit] Asking for common sense on a forum - failure on my part Oops

I don't see why people like you read posts like this if you are gone bullshit here. If you think it is a stupid question why
you bother to open, read and comment!
Common sense?! Anyone with common sense will ask the same questions because a lot of games weren't working on win7 at it's very beginning. I'd say that your common sense is more questionable!

Everyone else I'm grateful for your answers, they really helped at that time.
