So I was fuckin about doin Caldouchie missions near Jita when suddenly it hit me. What is this doing to my faction standings? I look to see that my Gallente Federation standing is way down. -2.2 to be exact.

I immediately flew to dodicksie and found some level one missions to do in the surrounding systems. When I finally got a storyline mission I was sad to see that it only increased my standing by almost nothing. Is there a better way to go about this?

I also noticed that my effective standing toward level 2 mission agents is -2.2, but the personal standing is 0 and the Corp standing is .86. I was wondering which of these is most important when it comes to being able to do their missions? If I got the Corp standing to 2.00 could I run their missions even though the Faction standing is low? If so then disregard the question about increasing faction standing.

Type in "repairing sec" in the search field at the top right of this screen.

Press "Enter" key.

Choose "All Forums"

Press "Enter" key.

Choose applicable thread.

It's a new feature we hope really pays off! P

No thanks. I'm not looking from info from pre crucible, which is what most searches come up with from my experience.

If you don't know the answer it's better to just not post at all, just a helpful hint.

Go here for a good, comprehensive guide. Yes, it is pre Crucible. It is still accurate though as they haven't changed anything that this addresses.

Seriously, anything from pre Crucible still works.

And for your specific situation, run the SOE epic arc and chose Gallente at the end. That will jump you up to about -1. From there you can do missions based on the corp relationship rather than the faction one.

Or, if you haven't, just train diplomacy.

Note: at -2 faction standing, you can only run lvl 1 missions. Above that seems to be corp based.

You can't increase Faction Standing without damaging Faction standings elsewhere, and you can't increase Faction Standings running regular, (Courier/Combat/Mining), missions.

Only way to avoid damaging Faction Standings, is to run non-combat missions. Boring and unprofitable maybe, but you'll increase your Corp standings. It's designed this way, so you'll be forced to choose a Faction to run missions for to the exclusion of all others.

Exception being the SOE arc.

actually...

there are two ways to lose standings... either direct standings changes, or derived. Direct losses are only incurred by shooting at the faction (and failing missions.) Direct losses can be pretty significant and add up really quick. It is pretty trivially easy to reject missions that will result in direct standings losses, especially if you have two or three backup agents handy. Derived losses are incurred by gaining standings with someone that entity doesn't like (regardless the type of mission.) They tend to be miniscule, especially later on. In fact, I'm pretty sure all my derived losses over the past year have been rounded down to zero.

So, combat missions are fine, just train your social skills up, reject faction missions, and don't worry about the derived standings. Do this and Diplomacy 3 (or so) will make you virtually immune to becoming KOS.

Maxim 6. If violence wasn’t your last resort, you failed to resort to enough of it.

First of all, I burgled no such thing. Second, I hate when people post some generic "google, Kay?" post when they don't have an answer for the question being asked.

To everyone else, thanks for the help. I've already done Sisters of Eve so that's not an option but I'll check out that thread. Other than that I don't really mind hurting my standing with the Caldouchie and slave running Amarr. I just want to fix my Gallente standing.

A good way to sort yourself out would be to turn in tags at the DED Cosmos sites - presumably you can got to Minmatar space and turn in tags to their agents, giving a boost to Min and Gallente in the process - after that, you can do the Gallente DED sites.
It should take you up by about 5.5 in total if you do both allies' sites (5.5 with Min and likely about 1.5 with Gal)

Good luck and enjoy

I suggest you fit a faction frigate with the best deadspace mods money can buy, then go run the military and Advanced military career tutorials for gallente.

Rush through them as fast as possible, they're all just kill missions, that'll boost your standings pretty quick.

I have done this myself and can guarantee results.
