Patchday threadnaughts (the massive patches were a pain, but the threadnaughts were hilarious)

New patches re-enabling sound and jumping out of your skin when the launcher loaded with music, then watching the hair-raising intro vids and gawping

On the forums good natured ribbing, pro trolling, vicious sarcasm - dunno whether it's an age/exposure thing but in general the quality seems to be dropping and there's a really mean edge to it now

And this, probably the best thread on any eve forum *ding ding*

Ah the old forums... where it was possible for threads like this to develop. And in C + P no less!

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

Tis why I get depressed when folk band together with him in their forum warrioring. You know not what you fight for my son.

I miss Can Flipping Mechanics. Good, good times.

I miss the old NOS Domis that were Solo Kings back in the day. Back when NOS Always drained regardless of target Cap level. Talk about OP.

Paying a corporation isk to maintain a killboard.

Splash damage on torpedos.

Myrmidon with five heavy drones and lazers.

The old scanner probe mechanics.

Warp to 15km at star gates and buying region waypoints for warp to zero.

When drone null was released.

When BOB collasped and it went hog wild.

The old cyno and jumping effects.

Because trading 15 minutes (the time it takes a person competent at PVE to make 33 million isk in many cases) to gain 1410 minutes (aka "a day") of game access is asking too much, CCP help now!!!

I once got 333 million isk for doing a Serpentis Hideaway that took 3 minutes, so now on I'm just gonna say a competent person can make 333 million isk in 3 minutes doing PvE. I mean, it's as stupid as what you're saying.

So wait a minute, what you said amplified the truth of the point of what I'm saying by 10 times, yet what I'm saying is stupid? Thanks for helping prove my point btw.

The concept I guess you failed to grasp there is that what I said is in no way considered 'average' just because I did it once.

Jenn aSide, perhaps you need to read what he actually wrote one more time. You missed his point pretty much. His point was the opposite of what you perceived. People always mention how much isk they can make in a few min. but they mostly forget to average and include scanning time, travelling time, waiting for incursion, hauling time and selling.

Sure if you only calculate the time you are in the incursion site, DED site or kill the rat in belt your numbers look impressive. But as he pointed out this is a stupid way to present your isk/hour, as the real amount will be less if averaged total time used over let us say a month.

He examplified this by saying he once got 333 mill isk in 3 minutes. He could then claim to newbies that you can earn 6.6 bill isk/hr, which would be misleading and stupid because he also has travelling time + those modules will never drop so often etc. making his effective ish/hr much less when averaged with all the time he spends doing this PVE activity pr month.

TLDR: He thinks you might be over-inflating your isk/hr numbers by not calculating in all factors, and you didn't get this point at all.

Also:

inb4 Jenn aSide chestbeating claims of 33 mill/15 min (132 mill isk/hr) is really the true average of his every single 1 hr PVE session when all the before mentioned factors are calculated in (and you need to calcaulate them in).

Never understood why they removed the jukebox.

And I still believe the old probing mechanics were better because player skill and knowledge actually meant a lot (like using the sig strength to determine the probable nature of the anom before you probed it down - not sure if people nowadays still know how to use that info).

Also stacking AB and MWD used to be fun (but that was really a long time ago).

The first few weeks of hearing "Warp drive active." and the wonder of what I might find at the end of my warp. I get the feeling back after long absences.

The answer was usually "nothing," and it still is. Those infrequent, large fleet battles with capitals amidst bubbles and wrecks makes up for it, though. kinda
