I read somewhere that looting the can of a suspect no longer results in the looter being suspect flagged. I have a couple of questions.

If I loot another player's can, I am suspect flagged. If I then jettison the loot, since I am suspect, does that mean anyone can take from my can without getting a flag?

And if a third player, such as my alt (not suspect flagged), loots my can and jettisons, nobody can loot his can without getting flagged?

Once my suspect timer expires, are my cans no longer lootable without causing a flag?

I endorse this product and/or asking a solid question in the right place with a main. Bravo

All fun aside and serious face on here. Totally agree.

After seeing this thread, I was inspired to attempt some can flipping just because.

I am happy to report that mining into cans apparently still happens, even with Orcas and haulers on the field.

I am sad to report that nobody did anything to respond to my stealing of one unit of ice, except to leave (which most miners did), until my suspect timer was almost up.

I am happy to report that someone did finally respond by landing a D3 in the belt and locking me up.

I am sad to report that of all the ships I had in my friendly Orca's ship bay to jump into, none of them would likely have beaten a D3, so I withdrew.

Final report: can flipping is potentially alive and well, I was just ill prepared for it i my hasty planning.

Carry on.

Oh, and Serendipity, I was using a Venture as my thief/bait ship. Still no BBM for you. Blink

Being able to take things owned by a suspect flagged character without gaining a flag yourself because it severely hampers the ability of the can flipper to actually take anything of value from the miners.

As it is right now if you actually want to deny the miners their ore you have to shoot the can or re-flip it with an alt. Shooting the can is suboptimal, because while it annoys the ever living crap out of the miners it gives them no opportunity to try and take their ore back. Re-flipping it with an alt is suboptimal because it requires an alt.

Overall it's just not quite as good as the previous system, which is a shame, because canflipping was the one truly accessible form of highsec PVP that literally anyone could do with less than an hour of training and a T1 frigate, inherently happens in open space, makes potentially eventful and genuinely required good piloting and situational awareness.

No argument here. My entire mission was predicated on the notion of one of the mining ships aggressing me, which is much less likely then one of them trying to steal their own ore back.

On the flip side (no pun intended), straight-up ore thieves have it pretty easy now. Park an Orca or DST next to the can, have a cheapo disposable ship loot the can straight into the fleet hangar, and yer done. There's less likelyhood of direct combat, but thievery is still PvP.

Do the pants give a blanket resistance bonus like a damage control. Or is it focused like a resistance amplifier?

Signatures wer cooler when we couldn't remove them completely.

The pants give a 10% bonus to charisma, bulge, virility and witty repartee; they reduce the chance of beer goggles and dancin' like yer dad by 5%,

I don't know about anybody else, but I need these.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
