Name some names

Not so we can laugh at your misfortune, but because this is actually not normal.

Most people just do their own thing. Perhaps you're doing something that's painting a target on you?

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

The what now? The people I'm with in EVE are actually pretty decent. Maybe the problem is not with them but with you. You're the only constant in your perception on how other people are "bad trolls". Or is it that you think that being PVP'd without your "consent" is trolling because looking at your publicly available data you just got PVP'd hard.

PS your first loss was to my alliancemates.Smile Nice cargo-fitted armor rail vexor you have there with mining drones.Lol

P.S. If you actually expect EVE to play like any other MMO EVE will string you dry. Learn how to actually play the game(talk to people who killed you). You'd be surprised on how friendly they will be once they got past the pew pew phase.

Yep, I totally agree with you. Eve is a great game, but the majority of the people that play this game is............

If you're going out of Hi-Sec to make isk, your best bet is to use a platinum insured T2 fitted T1 BS like the Raven or Domi and fit a LMJD. If I were you, I'd stay in hi-sec and run SOE lev 4's for now and later branch out.

Or you can do like everyone else and join a Null-Sec Alliance and you can rat in their sovereign territories.

Chip on your shoulder? Bro, lighten up, this is actually one of the best mmo communities out there. You need to get hooked up, not just roam around getting into verbal fights with random people.

And no, if you set out to PLEX this game as if it were just another one of those f2p's, forgetaboutit. This is not that. My first login was 03-04, played off and on until 2010-2011 where I finally committed for the long term, simply because every other mmo and every other mmo community is pretty much crap now. EVE is one of the last true old-school mmo games, apart from a couple that are somewhat still into the old-school philosophy of mmo gaming (maybe AO and wwiiol to name a couple). Coming from EnB, then SWG and now here for my internet spaceship fix, people of this sub-genre are actually grateful EVE exists, and still operates as a subscription with no real f2p of which still PLEX I have never used to extend my account time.

I'd say at least give it 90 days, get hooked up, it's really hard to make a judgement the first few weeks. Accept that EVE is different from other games, and that it has a different community. The only really thing you can judge the first month is whether or not you enjoy internet spaceships. Some don't and they leave. Understanding the community though takes time.

1) The kind of anger and tears you are openly displaying is like nectar of the gods to much of the EVE population.
They feed on this and it is their greatest satsifaction far beyond mere isk. One day, you too may learn to appreciate its delicious saltiness on your own part.

2) The kind of anger and tears you are openly displaying is getting in the way of your own enjoyment. You have to accept loss in this game, more often than not due to your own mistakes, which others then capitalize on. Think of these as a learning experience from the stick, rather than the carrot, and move on. Its a game, and you are taking it very personally, whereas your antagonists wont even remember your name 30mins later.

3) Familiarize yourself with http://evemaps.dotlan.net/ and relocate accordingly. Sounds to me like you are operating in heavily griefed CODE "terrortory", which is a mistake many newer players make at first. There are many, many places you can move to.

4) Set goals for yourself, skill accordingly, and enjoy the game on your own terms, like you want to. But never forget, that sooner or later, someone will take an enormous **** on you when you slip up. You will come to realize that that is exactly what sets EVE apart from other games, and especially as the "different" MMO you are looking for.

Relax. Blowing up ships is the purpose of this game. Nobody is bad just because he attacks and kills you, it's just common business to kill every ship you can. In EvE "killing is just a means of communication". React with humor, self-confidence, and you will have a decent conversation. Learn from those encounters, if you get blown up, it's 99% because of you lacking knowledge or you did a mistake. Never, never ever paint yourself as a victim ... this will lead you into abyss in short time.

Step 1: Leave NPC corp
Step 2: find Player Corp
Step 3: Have fun

Also from your killboards the area's your going is the places people want to shoot you..... venturing into nullsec without being blue is like walking through someones house uninvited.... they usually wont be too friendly about it....

Learn to format paragraphs and be specific. All I see when I read your post is "... trolling... sucks... 011 great game but... trolling" then you also take the time to write "... waiting just to **** you over" but other place write "fuckboys."

It's just a great shiptoast. 8.5/10

TIPS:
Drop the swearing

Write your rant, come back an hour later, format it into readable paragraphs with spaces between ideas, capital letters, and more specific points. Especially in this case How are people trolling you? What are the circumstances in which the trolling came to be

Join a newbie-friendly player corp

Post in the New Player Help section, not general discussion

Don't dismiss the entire playerbase then make demands and threats ."if the community is still so nasty and volatile.. then im prob going to need to put this wonderful game back on the shelf" Your threat is empty. No one cares if you leave.

I'm not a grammar nazi. My spelling is atrocious and my grammar is bad. I don't mind the odd comma out of place, or the wrong word used as long as the point is clear. What I do mind is a giant 4 inch by 4 inch block of words with no coherent organization.

thanks guys.. i was hoping i would find some cooler people via the forums.. and its kinda hard to keep a positive attitude in a game where literally everyone i've come across so far has been a total a hole.. called me names or decided to gank my rookie ship for no reason just to have their own blown up bye concord.. and yeah the game itself supports free and player created movement.. but that doesn't mean it should be okay to treat people like such worthless dirt and overall try to make them quit the game.. like for example.. CODE

Calm down miner! There is no need to get personal and stuff here. If you operate in New Order territory you are required to follow the Code and display your mining permit (they are only 10mil ISK and valid for a full year).

Like the Ripard Teg alt already said, there are a lot of places you can go. For example we don't claim Lowsec, go mine there if you think rules, order and democracy are not your thing.

There is a comedian named Daniel Tosh, and one of his recurring jokes is "Can I hit her NOW?!?" (based off the old saying "never hit a lady, it's usually centered around some woman doing something horrible , usually to her own children lol).

Well, like the detractors of that comedian, some people like to jump all over me for suggesting that some people simply aren't cut out for EVE, and this is usually becomes apparent when that person fails and fails over and over again and rather than learning something and overcoming obstacles, they blame their woes on a "terrible community" and threaten to quit.

So, can I say "this guy isn't cut out for EVE" Now??!?

I don't really see the problem with EVE alhough I'm only 2-3 weeks old. Lacking a lot of skills (~850k SP) that are slowly getting there. Focusing on gallente, hybrids/drones, support/upgrade skills, upto cruiser level and doing lvl2 missions etc rather than PVP for now. Learn more/become proficient at fits/have some abilities before pro-actively seeking out ways to die/blow sh*t up :)

Corps: I don't want to ask for big-bro help, I know where Google is and where the ingame channels are. I don't want an injection of funds, free ships, processing/industry buffs, I can get the ISK and skills to do that myself and learn something about each career option in the process. I will join a corp in the coming weeks/month once I find something I like the sound of (avoiding both extreme ends of carebear and kill anything anywhere corps). Suggestions are welcomed and maybe it's a bad idea to be waiting? Maybe I'm not expected to jump straight into fleets and go on roams? I can't say that I have the time to commit or maybe EU timezone won't fit and so on. Probs something I'd ask the corp to find out - each one will come with their own risks and rewards I guess

Do I expect to die: yup of course (hopefully I get a little choice in the matter), does it bother me: only a little due to throwing me off the reason I would have been there in the first place. Learned in first week not to spend 30-40m in SP upgrade or fly ships I couldn't afford to lose.

In first week of n00bness and under the impression PVE was PVE, I got killed at Old Man Star (0.3) gate exit by a Hecate, Cynabal and Ishtar whom according to eve-kill just seem to spend their days doing the same thing here and there (almost as bad as mining; pew pew pointless kill no fight back little ISK, oh look a stat increase on a killboard Shocked). My death however was my own fault. Not sure what they get out of it though. Feeling of power over the small fry? Opportunity to get a kill whilst waiting for expensive cargo/salvage? Sec statuses are -9 to -10 so habitual. I can see why it would make those on the receiving end that are new to it want to quit the game if that's their typical experience with travelling to low sec/null.

PvP is fine - all for it - bit more choice of when being engaged would be preferable. PvE also fine though I can see that it would get boring/pointless fairly fast in hi sec. Started as a miner here. As soon as I had the skill/ISK to get a retriever spent two ore holds worth of time and realised exactly how boring that particular career is. No wonder people attack miners, that truly seems a waste of time unless getting mats for production/industry. Boredom levels must be similar to gate camping day in day out same routine.

It has left me a little bemused/intimidated at the idea of venturing into anything lower than 0.5 for now with any decent specced/priced ship. I almost expect there to be campers at every entrance/exit below 0.5 space, maybe I should set aside some throwaway frigs/dessies just to get a better feeling for the number of campers where I'm not > 5 or so jumps from home station so that when I die, more than that is just hassle to head back out, maybe if they didn't kill me, just podded me instead though doesn't then count to their kill stats I guess.

Already signed up to 6 month sub as didn't like 24hr limit on training queue or fact that some skills weren't trainable. Thought since it was only the cost of a new game it'll be worthwhile and so far looking good. Compare the £40 spent on WoW draenor a month or two ago to find it very disappointing/a waste of time and money; and what was an end to a wow sub for a game that hasn't really been played in years.

EVE at least is ever expanding and subject to change. Your skills will continue even if you're not playing, even if you need to take time away, for the cost of a tank of petrol a year it's something that is worth just having whether you're playing or not. I can't comment on what it was like in OPs day but apart from my limited experience of gate camping, as a true n00b I'm liking it.

Sorry - it's a small rambling novel. Off to do something instead
