AUR Store addition: Neural Remap

HI all,

As anyone knows the neural remap is an important function of eve online that when manipulated correctly can reduce the train times for skills by a significant amount.

I recently set up an alt to train and unwittingly increased the wrong primary attribute for my skill train plan. its reasonable to approximate that mistake will cost me weeks if not months of wasted train time. CCP is not completely unforgiving for these situations, they actually will reset your neural remap if you catch your mistake quick enough (within a week) but for unfortunate people like me who were too busy to check such details until months after the fact...I have no choice but to wait out the remainder of my 1 year cool down.

I would be relieved to know that I could simply use Isk or Aur to undo this mistake and perhaps purchase a neural remap. However, how do you account for the value of such a service?

I'm curious what the community thinks...if this were a real thing, what should it cost?
If you disagree that something like this should be included in the game...tell us why
Or if you like the suggestion, say so, we want to get a consensus here

Thank you for any feedback

To be honest, I'm kind of against this. It seems like it would get abused by certain pilots (those with too much cash or too much ISK) to just remap whenever they wanted to. For example, going from navigation, to combat, to industry... etc, they would just remap instead of buying implants or really planning things out long term.

The only way I'd be okay with this being implemented would be a cool down on purchased remaps, maybe 6 months? That way it couldn't be spammed just to maximize SP gain every single time you felt like training something different.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that this is actually a good suggestion, I could see it being implemented I just hope it's implemented in a way that it's not easy to abuse.

Generally it's been a no. In fact CCP initially intended for everyone to get 2 remaps per year (every 6 months), but the community asked for a reduction.

I have a feeling attributes are going, at some point in the future. They do not help new players and hinder specialisation.
They should be kept, but to influence another game mechanic and not training speed.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

I created a similar post only to be told that this thread existed so I will voice my opinion here instead.. I agree 100%

A simple solution would be to reduce the time for neural remaps to around 3 months, this way the impact of making a bad choice with remaps is reduced significantly.

Another solution would be to introduce a new skill for Neural Enhancement which will reduce the regeneration time between remaps per level.

This seems wildly abusive to anyone with enough cash or ISK. I would much rather see the whole remap system scrapped instead!

I would say make it a station service, similar to the security offices used to repair sec status. It would be a much needed money sink.

1) People can already buy SP on the character bazaar. This whole argument is null and void.

2) 100+ mill SP doesn't make this game anymore fun. It will actually make you hate the game more.

1 yr remap should be removed or reduced to say 1mth. I would also like to be able to unplug a skill if there has been no training on it. It would be simple for ccp to do and would benefit all players new or old.

Remap works well in Dust514. mainly newbies which do not want own other alts (industry/support/OGB) can appreciate it.

Sounds like something a space-peon might say (joking Big smile).

Honestly, what's the big deal? If we accept the premise that it's acceptable for a space-tycoon to pay tens of billions for an AT/limited circulation ship that will give them a marginal but discernable leg up in space combat, why not allow the same for space thinking?

Make the neural remap extortionately expensive - and I mean extortionately, in line with how AT items are priced by the market - but make it so.

In my 5 years of playing this game, I think I've remapped maybe 3 times. Thank you EVEMon.

Because those can only be bought with Isk. If you're successful in the game, you can buy shinier stuff, but said shiny stuff can always be blown up.

If you can get an actual advantage over other players just by being rich out of game and being able to remap whenever the hell you want to maximize your skill queue and train quicker, that's a problem.

How about we just get rid of stats instead.

Definite no to purchasing a neural remap.

Reducing one year down to six month remap sounds reasonable or get rid completely....

I would love to see you and everyone on CSM apply the same logic to SP Trading.
