Hey guys im returning after a long period of escape, i mean a break, when i left i was flying a ishtar with t2 sentries for missions of any type. It appears this is no longer optimal! So i need advice on what to fly to pew pew cha chew. I can fly anything lower than a command ship at l5 with near perfect skills. I would prefer to keep it at that ship size but if needed i can go BS, let me know what ship you guys think i should be flying. Otherwise ill have to spend forever in EFT x.x

Sounds like a Gila or Rattlesnake would be right up your alley. That depends, of course, in large part where you plan to run your missions.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Doesn't matter where. The sentry drone damage isn't high enough now to make me want to fly an Ishtar, is it better in the Gila?

I'm not opposed to switching to a different weapon type as i have all medium weapon types at perfect. I'm not 'stuck' on drone boats it was just what i was flying when i could do 800 dps at 50km afking in an Ishtar for low ship cost and no ammo costs.

I don't really want to do heavy drones also, travel time impacts negatively too much, nor do i want a short range boat because of the same reason.

Like this Hardeners, drones and missiles are swapped to match mission.

Welcome back to Eve.

Well, I can't say much about other Factions ships since I mainly fly Minmatar ships. I also can't say much about running regular Agent missions since I only run Event Agent missions (Cosmos, Epic Arcs, etc) along with exploration sites.

But what I can say is for the most part Drone boats are no longer AFK mission runners since NPC's usually target the drones first.

I'm sure others will post more usable info for you very shortly. Hope you have a long and rewarding career in Eve this time around.

I can fly all minimitar ships below BS at full skills are there any you would suggest? I am also not opposed to event agents so suggest away!

A question on the gila setup. why not active with an AB and three to two hardeners for decent resists cap stable. You would get the speed and sig tanking, a free slot for drone nav and can tank the l4s just fine if i remember correctly from my sheild tanked ishtar.

If there is an effective BC or lower gun setup that can do the missions at about the same speed as a gila id be glad for the change of pace incase anyone has any ideas. Any ship any gun type.

Why would you want to fly anything other than the Gila?

Well, I fly a Deadspace / Faction fit Loki (T3 Cruiser) which can pretty much solo all of the Epic Arc missions. The only exception is the very last mission of the Caldari Epic Arc due to the perma-jam being done by 4 Elite Cruisers. To quickly complete that mission, just have a friend or an alt jump in and take out the EWAR Cruisers.

Most of the time I use the Loki to also run exploration sites and expeditions, mainly due to the versatility of the sub-systems as well as having to do lot's of traveling. I keep other various ships (Frigates, Cruisers, etc) stationed in different systems throughout the Eve Universe to run the few sites that T3 Cruisers can't access.

Info about Event Agents.

In fact, the 'Faction Standing Repair Plan' (sticky thread in this sub-forum) mainly deals with Event Agents. Not only can it repair negative Faction standings, it can also be used to help boost positive Faction standings as well..

Anyway, this gives you another option to consider. Just remember that this isn't a min/max set up for making ISK per hour, I have this set up for ease and convenience.

I use various Hardwired implants to help increase ship stats and do module fitting. Also about exploration, the Loki can withstand Ghost sites solo, however I'd think twice before messing with Seeker/Drifter NPC's.

The only real boats i have flown for pve are drone boats, even in nullsec i did gila like 5 years ago. Time for a change!

thanks for the info might be a good change of pace for me to do a loki might not be able to afford a faction fit right away tho ;p

You're not going to get much out of a loki. The gila has been changed quite a bit. It now has 2 super drones that act like two AFs in tank and dps (300+dps each) and rapid lights are kinda fun too.

The only other ships that can really put out a lot of dps at range is rail tengu, rail astartes (command ship though) Ishtar/VNI and then you'll need to start looking at battleships. PIck from any of the marauders, Rattlesnake (really fun drone/missile hybrid boat) Machariel (cruiser like mobility on a 1k dps+ platform), maybe a Typhoon Navy or maybe a Vindicator

Loki really that good? Can a Loki solo C3s and 6/10 DEDs? Shield or Armor tanked? ACs or Arties?

Loki is solid for exploration since tank and utility/adaptability is more important than dps for many LS and Null exploration sites. I've used ACs and arties and used to run 8/10s with two prot buddies. I was the tank for the last room. can get redonk EM/Therm tank on a loki. Like seriously wtf tank but extremely meh dps, slightly over half what you can get from Gilas and less than half of a rattler/macharial/vindi/phoon/etc.

Saw the 'new' (to me) tatical destroyers decided to try out the confessor gotta admit its pretty fun just need a couple days to get the ship skills up!
