ISD Streaming FAQ

Going to make this thread now that we are less than 14 days away till the start of the Alliance Tournament. Going to do this FAQ and then you're welcome to ask additional questions.

Please note that the first weekend will be streamed by ISD. This means that you may not get the quality or seamless viewing you are used too. For most of us this will be the first time something of this size is happening.


Q: Where can I find the streams?
A: We will be streaming BOTH systems. System 1 can be located here: http://www.twitch.tv/isdstar System 2 will be located here: http://www.twitch.tv/isdstar2 If you wish to watch BOTH streams at the same time use this link http://multitwitch.tv/isdstar/isdstar2

Note that if you use the multiwatch link be careful due to the amount of resources it will use.

Q: Is ISD going to be streaming without audio so we can make our own commentary?
A: Yes we will be. Please note we might keep the volume low but we'll have the sound from EVE streaming so you can listen to explosions!

Q: Can we give you our commentary stream so others can listen to it?
A: There will be no commentary on the main streams.

Q: Will you have an in-game channel available?
A: Yes it’s called ISDATXIII please free to join it so you can get commentary or talk in there along with our twitch channel chat.

Q: Is there anything I can do to help?
A: Yes spread the word of the streams!

Q: Beyond spreading the word who should we talk to if we want to help or have suggestions?
A: Me (ISD Athechu) is the primary one working on this. ISD Buldath is my secondary. Of course you can ask other ISD as well but the two of us are the main points of contact.

Q: If we can't watch the fights live will ISD archive them?
A: Yes we will. Not only that but we will also upload them to our youtube account as well.

Q: Will you play ads?

Will the ISD streams have the tournament graphics with the attack/defense bars, who is flying what ship, and all that jazz?

Will the ISD stream include player-submitted AT ads?

Is it even possible to give ya'll enough thanks for doing this? Big smile

1) Yes we will have the cool graphics, our streams will not have commentary per request from CCP. Allowing others to create their own audio stream themselves.

2) Yes there will be advertisements. Please have them in by the 12th by Midnight.

Just remember that this is the first time ISD has undertaken an event like this so we'll do our best to make it as smooth as possible.

I would like to know when the streaming will start? A moment before the matches or there will be time for people to join and for you to check if it is working?

Not a problem we're all happy to do it :)

Ideally streams will go up 20 minutes before hand maybe more maybe less can't be 100% sure on it. Everyone is always welcome to join the respective twitch streams for which system they wish to watch though and just chat in the channels till the streams go live.

Woot!!! Youtube playback!!!

Hey quick question.
I'm extremely happy that it's being broadcast, and thank you guys for that, BUT
Will your youtube videos be separated by fight, or will you simply place the entire broadcast in one video?

Like I said, I'm extremely happy it's being recorded, but was just wondering on this.

The video will be uploaded directly from twitch archive so it will be the entire thing. I'll see what I can do to splice them into individual matches this might just take some time before being uploaded.
