Where Runescape went wrong

Yes, I was a Runescape veteran, albeit a very sad one. Six years of work, erased in one day. How did this happen, you ask?
Hackers.

Hackers are probably Runescape's biggest issue at the moment. Jagex needs to get their priorities straight and try to deal with them, instead of giving players the typical "We're not responsible" BS. 100 milion gold and my entire bank account was wiped, and I had a very complex password and I also had a bank PIN installed. Not even my Zaros Gilded Armor was spared.

Another bad move, in my opinion, was the Evolution of Combat (EoC). While this does make combat a bit more exciting, it's very tedious and a big click-fest. Oh well, let the biggest clicker win!

And the graphics overhaul was just terrible. Runescape had it's own fantasy-medieval look to it, and playing it that way was a unique experience. Now, everything has been impregnated with the typical WoW-esque design that plagues every fantasy MMO.

Wouldn't you agree?

Rappelz pretty much died for the same reason.

There was a massive wave of account hacking and account thefts that overwhelmed the small GM team to the point where the backlog of tickets meant that there was a three month wait for your ticket to be serviced and your character restored.

This drove away a lot of the veteran players who actually used the cash shop since they had lost their characters and this in turn lead to less money coming into the game which caused the devs to have to downsize the GM department which caused the game to go into a death spiral.

in a twisted and changed state, nothing like when it began.

i left it to come to eve. best thing i ever did. 2006-2009.

even the old school 2006 one they came out with wasn't the same.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

I don't even remember when i played it. All i remember was that back then it was still 2D.

Back then i liked to make a char called "Man" and go to the mobs with the same kind of black pants and shirts. Once someone started killing my friends i would run at them and start to yell stuff like I'M GOING TO RIP OUT YOUR SOUL!

Usually people would start running Big smile
