If you think your subscription is ending, you better check your account status. Both my accounts were switched from "cancelled" to "active" without notification.

It seems that CCP changed their payment options a while ago and removed the non-recurring payment option. Taking into account what happened to me, I believe that they also switched all accounts that used a non-recurring payment option to have a recurring payment scheme now. Conveniently for CCP that also changed the "ending date" for the account to a "rebilling date".

I was on my way out anyway, because I don't like what CCP is doing to the game. This only reaffirms my decision.

(I was unpleasantly surprised by the "autobilling" policy, but there is an option to cancel your acocunt to "stop autobilling", literally)

Buddy lost a few $100 that way, I lost $35 on a sub that i had planned on ending.

If they changed it from cancelled to active, then couldn't you get your monies back?
I agree if this is the case, it's a poor move from CCP and one they need to rectify.

Nope. Still cancelled. Had to manually end the subscription though to get rid of the automated renewal they shoved in.

Same, still cancelled. I have to cancel every time I pay because automatic renewal is just meh.

Why would anyone want to accidentally let their subscription end?

Re-initiating auto renewal is a very thoughtful service and we should be thanking them for considering our interests.

Nope, this is a 'I'm unsubbed, but CCP wants me to pay anyway, whether I know it or not'. I'm hoping this was an accident of changing the subscription system.

I suspect that some coder screwed up a line of code and re-upped everyone on a non-recurring plan. Else it would be a real underhanded move that will get them flooded with petitions. Much more trouble than it's worth.

Still...good catch OP, and solid advice to people to keep an eye on their subs.

They did this awhile back, and both my accounts were switched to one time paypal payment to recurring.

I caught it on time and cancel it since i pay using plex i buy using isk.

Been around since the beginning.

I doubt CCP changed your account status manually.
More likely last time you subscribed you failed to notice that there wasn't a check box, given how long ago it was removed.
And thus subscribed to an auto renewal by pressing submit yourself.
