have recently returned from a four year break. I'm looking for advice on a ship/fit for running guristas anoms/plexes in null sec.

i have 103+ million skill points almost all invested in minmitar ships/weapons. i can fly any minmatar ship with the exception of super carrier and titan.

i would like to keep the cost under 1 bill, preferably no higher that about 750 mill (not too fond of flying ships that scream gank me!) Here a look at my skills from a few years ago (don't feel like updating them).

Old Eveboard skills

thanks for any help/advice in advance (yes i know tengus are the best, but i have other things i want to train for atm, so let's stick with minmatar please)

p.s. i hate the maelstrom so please anything other than that

The new Tempest, the Mael, the Mach

Just off the top of my head.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

I'm primarily a Minmatar pilot as well. I'd suggest you look at the Typhoon fleet with something liek this for a build. Used a similar build in Null running anoms quite successfully though I needed less tank because i was tanking em/therm.

Sweet spot is around 75km. The tank might be a bit heavy, not that familiar with gurista anoms and the amount of dps they put out. The Neut is in case you get tackled by an inty and the MJD is to help manage range and help get away from neuts.

If you want something that is more drone focused you can try a rattlesnake though it needs Galente and Caldari BS skills.

Regular phoon works as well at a much lower cost

Cruise missiles and 4 sentries, it's a nice ship

Vargur, Macherial, or Tempest. Not the Tempest Fleet Issue. The regular Tempest is better.

I haven't seen nor heard any news that CCP is going to change the TFI. Even if they do, we all know how fast CCP is to "fix" things.

It's close but not quite. Less tank(Cap), less highs(less drone range or loss of neut), less dps, speed, fittings (though the fit works fine), ehp, sensor strength(Helps against jamming), one less sentry and smaller drone bay size. Also the Typhoon fleet fits within the budget of the OP. Smaller alpha/ faster volley and slightly better application (128 vs 160 explosion velocity) is the only advantages the 'phoon has over the Fleet one.

Regular Typhoon for cheap as chips, go with the Fleet Typhoon (as seen above) or Machariel. Where range/speed is a big part of your tank.

Both Tempest versions, while having a nice dps (regular Tempest is now superior) have crappy range, and no tank bonus to fight a close range.

Edit: Machariel is now pretty cheap, around 600m.

It most definitely does not have less dps.

unless you fit it supper awkwardly with artillery in the remaining highs for some reason.

I note you have Gal Cruiser IV and T2 Heavy drones......

a 100mn AB passive shield Vexor Navy Issue and Wasp II drones is fine for many Gurista anomalies, not so sure about plex sites.

Or you could go with a Rattlesnake.

Uuuh 1 less drone = less dps (Same missile damage). Slightly better application on the cruises tho.

And you joke about the arties but I remember experimenting with them to alpha frigs. Not sure if I kept them or not in the end, is almost a year ago now and was in sansha space.
