Does anyone here feel as if EVE has lost its 'realness' and authentici

There is already a citadel in eve, and entire region for that matter.

Citadel is more religious in nature then fantasy. And honestly... the POS is a piece of ****, and should of been removed the day after exodus. It was and is a clunky, ill conceived annoying as **** mechanic.

They new structures will be scale able (one hopes) and should have a the ability to easily add something new, instead of having a tangles mess of garbage that no one wants to touch.

Now tot he reference to SWG, the changes we are currently experiencing have not fully played out yet. We can;t really say, for certain, this is the same equivalent. Because i'm not seeing anyone start the game with a 200msp cap pilot.

EVE is still in, what is known as a rebuilding phase. The issue is, they phase got tighter in 2013.

It will get worse before it better, pcu will drop some more, its how this will work. I predicy by the end of 2016 eve will be rebounding in numbers. But things have to play out. Adjustments can now be made to some things, like jump fatigue, now that the new sov is out. More adjustments will come in a cap rework, and with the structures coming, adjustments will be made to null sec enviorment. Things like moon mining are going to die (either because a new structure will take over, or a new mechanic entirely will be in place)

Dogma/BITB will change links and other stuff when thats complete.

Thats the thing. A lot of stuff behind the scenes in changing. Some stuff seems slow, but thats becuase you have to build on top of other things. And you have to see if this one change will work in yoru plans or if you need to modify them.

Rebuilding takes time. But the fruits of there labor shoudl start to come at the end of next year.

With Gunjack and Valk coming, ccp should get enough income to push through. When the dust settles though, will eve remin? I believe yes is the answer. but we will see.

IMO 2017 will see eve on the rise and in a much better place.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Do I think that Eve, a fictional game about space submarines fighting other space submarines in a fluid universe using magic and phase shifting weapons which selectively pass through matter, has lost its realness and authenticity...

I've played eve on and off since 2006.

Well, therein lies the problem. Many dedicated Eve players play consistently, not occasionally, not once in a while. Dedicated players have learned to adapt to the changes over the years. No, there have been changes that I don't like or find rather lopsided. I also realize that Eve in not solely centered on me and my style of play. So I adapt. Your vision of reality may or may not be the same as others. As for the comparison players ( WoW, and what not ), an apples relationship to an orange ends at being a round fruit grown on trees, beyond that they are completely different things.

What is in the structures name or visual may be important to an Eve player who follows the strict lore of the game, or someone who is dedicated to role play. Personally, I don't care if CCP calls it a "cow patty on a stick", as long as it has purpose with the intent of enhancing game play across all sections of the player base ( as best as possible ).

Eve is my hobby, not my life. I will continue to play until such time as CCP pulls the plug on the whole thing, or until the great EMP event sends us all back to the stone age. regardless I will adaptBig smile

Civil discourse is uniquely human. After all, when is the last time a pride of lions and a herd of water buffalo negotiated SOV over a watering hole? Never. Someone either gets their ass kicked or eaten. At the end of the day someone holds SOV.

lol, of course. And lowsec, HS, WH. Sadly, I have never tried the FW. Therefore, totally unqualified to comment on that form of game content. Big smile

Well it's kind of a stealthy thread to complain about SOV changes but the thread title really being EVE in general, unless EVE is only about SOV. It's a big part of it, SOV, and something CCP is finally trying to address. But in general the rest of the game is doing OK imo after years of work since the WiS debacle, then to the progression of reiteration from frigate changes and fixes on out to the eventual SOV revamp which has been coming for years. It's not about "realism" but player interaction. EVE was broken and nearly left for dead to pursue things that had nothing to do with internet spaceships. imo CCP has done a good job with EVE the past few years.

I'm in it for the money

I have lived everywhere in eve except in wormholes , mostly in null-sec and low-sec.Both solo as in coalitions and this since 2003.My prefered playstyle is pvp.

That answers your question or do i not fall correct into your stereotypelist now?

For me, it became horribly small and lacked choices or individualism when alliances formed and jump bridges and Titan bridges appeared.

Too easy to get around.

This is a space game. Actually getting around is a huge part of the sim, but someone added ship teleporters and regions could be spanned in one mighty leap.

The landscape lost all of its richness. You can jump bypass the cool systems entirely. Shame they even exist any more really. Seeing systems with less than 100 jumps a day is a sign that system needs some love

There are good ships,

And wood ships,

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

I remember a time when EVE didn't have warp to 0. Everything was warp to 15km and you had to slow boat!

Or when if you lived in Tenerifis or the deepest parts of EVE going to Jita would be a day trip that would take you hours. Kinda fun looking back but also annoying.

Or when alliances had to schedule freighter ops to get things to and from 0.0 and empire kek. That provided many hilarious kill mails when ops went horribly wrong. Alliances were crushed if they freighter ops were ambushed and rekt
