Great. Now it is a 10K-character limit,... hehehe......Twisted

Twitter Officially Drops 140-Character DM Limit

That is it Larry, from junior varsity track, you're being unfriended. Just can't take one of your drunken tweets at 10K characters.

When the board of directors speaks, the CEO listens. Even when it utterly destroys the only thing that made Twitter unique.

It will be interesting to see how long it takes for another company to jump in and fill that niche.

So the fun with a system that allows to communicate with just 140 characters, is that now it can be bloated up to 10,000 characters.

Like, seriously.

If I was new to net business crazy, I would ask why would Twitter want to stop being Twitter... Roll

Well for DMs it is nice that they have removed the limit. I sometimes organize stuff with people on twitter and then it can be a pain in the ass to be limited in normal direct messages.

And removing that limit will not impact the main feature of twitter.

This might make the newsfeed utterly unreadable, as people turn this into a blog with long posts to scroll past.

While I can't disagree with this, the fact is that social media is currently the thing. For which all the three letter govt departments in the U.S. thank God for.

But whether Twitter, Facebook, r/I farted, etc are the stupidest things modern society has come up with in generations is a whole other topic. Each of the them started with an original idea that became watered down to nothing as money and not idealism took over their thinking.

This is what is behind the change at Twitter. And this is why people will be saying, "What's a Twitter?", next year. As soon as you elect a board of directors that can't see past the next quarterly profit report, you have a company that's going **** up.

It is for some time, probably 100 000 years already. I think people were only using other media.

This is only for DMs, and its purpose is only for advertisers. They've been moving in this direction for a long time. First they let anyone DM anyone (duh, for advertisers), now they are letting the DMs be longer. It's a revenue move, and it's pretty obvious.
