I feel like the battleship round will have a lot more options available though.

True dat, plus I don't think there will be quite the same massive speed disparity that there is between most CBCs and a nano'd, kitey ABC.

Next thunderdome will have a few new features.

We have approved:

1) A T3D round. All races have them, and they are an incredibly short train (9 days max, I think, to get LVL 4).
2) Hard deadlines for matches to be completed by. One per week, due by downtime on the last day.

We are considering:

1) Timezone-specific matchups for the first few fights. This will allow participants in differing zones to compete with each other before needing to accommodate someone else schedule at 0200 hrs. This will be based on the number of opposing timezone participants we get. Details in the next signup thread.

2) Bans. Each participant will be able to ban one hull type per round.


We welcome your input on the considerations, and, please feel free to ask for something if you think it will help as we attempt to grow the event.

By hull type do you mean say "I ban the Navy Brutix" or do you mean "I ban the Brutix hull" which also is used for the astarte and the regular brutix? Just want to be clear.

Yeah no. I don't fly t1s. And you would never be excluded.

My frigate skills are poor at best. To even compete in this round I would have to alter my training q something shocking. unlike cruisers and frigs and even bc's to an extent (altho not as well) in the destroyer bracket their is no faction destroyer thats at least 2/3 as good as the t2 or in this case t3. Hell the t2 isn't 2/3 as good. I would need to train small guns to 5, gun spec to 2-3 and dessie to 5 and t3d to 4 to hope to get into this match up as the t3d's don't do very well with low skills for them. also in a 1v1 the jackdaw seems unbeatable. We have t3 cruisers all over again or skiffs that are unbeatable inside their own class

You are likely to be an exception to the rule if you don't have any small ship skills. Also that has to be the most expensive jackdaw ever fitted.

I can't fly t2 BC's... I'd day that puts me at a huge disadvantage in that round if I fight someone who can. Bronson, what say you?

I dont like t2 bc's either because they are equally unbalance. I think i touched on that erlier too. much like t2 bs's

The thing with D3s is that they will utterly and horribly curbstomp any other destroyer. In essence, it wouldn't be a destroyer round, it would effectively be a D3 round, rather like a cruiser round open to T3s would effectively be a T3 round.

I know that the train time for them is short, but I feel like adding a time limit on matches and an effective minimum training requirement for one round at the same time is too much. I say hold off on D3s for now. They would make for some awesome matches, but my inclination is towards inclusion, not exclusion. Give everyone a chance to get into them and get familiar with hem, then we should talk about including them.

You are welcome to participate, but I'm not going to restrict it to T1 only. I mean, you could be a baddass and wreck shop in a t1....
