just curious

two accounts loged, window mode, and both directed at the sun, or at "same" camera angle?

Bumping - Can CCP confirm this as a known issue and maybe explain a temporary work-around? Or better yet, put in a word for a permanent fix!

Well...it IS a pretty bad problem. I normally don't get uppity over a botched feature, but when it directly affects the ability to enjoy the game entirely...well, you get the idea. I just hope it doesn't take 100+ pages to get a response from CCP!

I haven't had this on 4 different computers and a laptop (2 NVIDIA, 1 AMD, 1 Intel and I do not know the other).

I use to have this but havnt noticed much lately thought it was fixed actually, but suppose not.

I have this same issue, with fully updated drivers...
On 2 machines...
BUT...
This only happens when I'm dual boxing on 1 monitor...

I have this problem since Tyrannis. It only appears when dual boxing, even when using two screens. It happened on ATI card first, then later on Nvidia. No driver fiddling would mend it.

I never bug reported it, because disabling "Sun is occluded by objects" makes it go away completely.

I don't have that issue, and the suns get occluded by objects.

Probably be a good idea to check in Issues, Workarounds & Localization sub forum channel for any related info.

Probably best to do as others have listed, deselect the Esc menu option 'Sun is occluded by objects'.

Also, can easily rotate the camera view so that the sun isn't in it.

Iv been getting this since way before Crucible.. I dual monitor also with 2 accounts and im running with 2 x 1GB ATI cards most up to date drivers also.

Is this view angle dependent for everyone who experiences this?

Also, is this tied to solar systems. Is it more likely to happen in certain systems? If so please list them here or preferably in a Bug Report.

Also if you are full screen or windowed, and the graphics settings. I keep all my graphics low (so I can run 3 clients on a laptop) and almost never see a flash.

Iv never kept track of the solar systems it happens in, but it happens frequently enough so i dont think its dependent on particular systems.. It is dependent on a particular angle you look at the sun at, i usually just move the camera away to stop it.

Guarantee you i will go and try to figure out the angle or something and ill never be able to purposefully get it to tell you.

System dependent, and when the sun is in the fov.

Ummm. Which category should the bug report be under? Art? Tech Art?


It matters not which system I am in. But both accounts need to be in space then if the sun is in the fov (regardless of whether this is true of the other one) white-outs occur on that account.
