I remember old days when the ships warped to the gates at 15 km distance, manually and by autopilot. It gave some distance and time for the space road. But the smart pilots began place bookmarks on 15 km after the gate. The bookmaks were raised incredibly and EVE change the warping to battle this. Now on manual flight ship warp exactly to the gate, but by autopilot still 15 km before the gate. As for me this is illogical, no mater who click on the warp command - a pilot or an autopilot, but why is so huge difference? And galaxy become smaller, no one need of the service of the local traders because anyone can quickly fly to the Jita.

What I suggest. The warping must be into a random point inside 15 km sphere with center of the target of the warping for both manual and autopilot. It will return original sence of the warping but stil will prevent for bookmarks growth. The travling wth auopilot will be quicker then before, with manual - slower then before, but both will have the same speed. In case of manual acceleration with mickrodrive/afterburner the manual flight still will be faster then uncontrolled autopilot. Space travel become longer, more depended on the speed of ship, the galaxy will become "large". As for me this is looking much more logical.

But I don't want to have to use warp to zero bookmarks on literally every gate anywhere...

Also, it's miserable enough trying to use a battleship, why do you want to make it worse?

As far as I can see this proposal would hugely increase travel times and tedium for no real gain in gameplay. You would be making the creation or purchase of warp to bookmarks for every gate in multiple regions compulsory for anyone serious about playing.

guy's the OP is suggesting you land anywhere within a 15km radius of the gate, so warp to 0 bm's could well put you 30 km ahead of the gate here.....

that said - more tedium - no thank you!

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it [u]WILL[/u] be.

i think they should remove warp to 0 AND make it impossible to land closer than 15km radius to objetcs like gates or stations no matters what bookmarks you got

I think they should just remove warps altogether to make slower traveling, because that is totally what you want, ey?

Yeah but no. Using AP is a choice, why should someone who can't be bothered to do something get exactly the same result as somebody who can be bothered?

Landing at 15km on autopilot is so that you have to be present in order to safely warp a shuttle through lowsec.

Nope, I mean that the any warp, to bookmarks or to stations or gate will be into random point inside 15 km sphere. It may be closer then 15 km to the target, but no more.

The current system is 2.5km sphere from the point you warp to (look at a fleet warp, people land in a sphere).

I don't see this being very difficult to implement.


But as people have pointed out, this is a nerf to non-AP travelling.

I could see the case for warp-precision improving with ship size - so that battleships land where you tell them to, but frigates drift while in warp.
