Last I knew the onus of taking care of new players didn't rest on the shoulders of CCP so much as the other players.

-- I do not want a popular MMO. I like EVE because it does exactly what every other MMO does not do. It's a tough, harsh, complicated world where your choices matter and loss is "real".

-- By way of experiment, I made a trial account last month just to re-experience what it was to be new / low-SP again (I also wanted to see what the new tutorial was like, it still sucks...) In my first week a GM contacted me to ask how I was doing, that sounds like looking after new players to me. On that trial toon I also got my first few kills at 2 days old, earned 200m (I told you it was easy!) got blown up a lot and had tremendous fun.
