For the love of god ccp, make ships recognizable in the overview apart from everything else. the new icons blur into everything else..

This always makes me chuckle, the old icons blended into the overview much more than the new ones.

It's just that the new ones are different. Adapt.

nah, the old ones where slim crosses, new ones bold and look like stations, telling me to adapt is like telling me a square aint a square, go figure..

Squares are squares, triangles are triangles, and chevrons are not circles. Go back to kindergarten, as far as I remember, that's where we learned basic shapes.

New overview is a few +1s better, I don't have to read the names of all 12 small size ships in a gate camp to find out they don't have any interceptors, or Dessie's, or to tell if it's a tornado gang or a t3 cruiser blob on our station.

Overview now contains more information, more readily available at a glance than it did before.

I still cannot get used to moving, upside down eject buttons, flying upside down wrecks, angry pacmen, angry R2D2's or flying kisses.
Good thing we still have that type column.

The old symbols clearly distinguished between player owned vessels, NPC vessels and celestials. Much more clearly than the current icons. You could not mistake a player vessel for any other entity in the game, it was outright impossible. Even with the slight blue hue, it still requires an overview check to be absolutely sure whether there's a player ship or not. And particularly on busy grids, this becomes quite tedious.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Since it is quite a while since release, I have gotten quite used to them... And I don't think they blend together, with the exception of frigates n destroyers.

Since they changed the drone icons I've not had a problem. In all seriousness though if they blur badly for you it might be worth a visit to the optician, just in case.

For player-owned ships, easy to set overview settings so they show up with a colored background. That's what I do. Much clearer and immediate than any icon.

What I personally would love is if the overview were split vertically between on-grid and off-grid. Even a very few pixel separation/line would be enough to do the trick.
