Thanks for the warm welcome. I most certainly will ask questions, etc.

So far I've read Feyd's blog & minerbumping.com (only about 60%... lot of damn posts in there) which has been quite an education in itself.

Now I'm gonna search for Thunderdome information to learn more.

Minerbumping is more entertainment value than helpful info. Feyd on the other hand, has terrific info as well as funny posts. Good start.

As the reigning Thunderdome champ, I will gladly answer any questions you have. If you'd like, I will even go a few rounds with you (in inexpensively-fit, entry-level ships, of course) if you want to learn the ropes.

Also, there is a growing collection of match videos online. Here are the ones that I've posted, but there are others.

EDIT: I also bumped the July Thunderdome Bracket thread back to the front page. This bracket seems to be stalled, so maybe being visible will help remind contenders to step up and fight.

Just over a month. It's been good. I subbed for 3mo, but expect to be around for a good long time. There's so much I want to do.

I will gladly take you up on the offer! Inexpensively-fit, entry-level ships are my specialty (and that's pretty much all I can afford and have skills to pilot). I'll add you as a contact tonight after work. (after 10PM PST)

The important thing to learn is that your knowledge of the skills you DO have can best someone that does not know how to use their own.

Here is the truth about individual skill.

Most people pvp by clicking "orbit at 500" and then turning everything on.

There is a second tier of somewhat more skilled players who will use other ranges.

Every other tactic is essentially reserved for the 10% of the player base who bothers to learn game mechanics.

No matter how many SP I have, if you fly such that the game mechanics favor you, I will lose.
That means you need to be flying in profiles where I can't compete.

Once you accept that you can't out-brawl older players and start using finesse and tactics, you will start to see a lot of wins.
