Are there any public mining fleets?

So i havent mined in... long time

My exhumer is sitting in a station gathering dust and i figured tommorow id take it out for a spin to get some ore, are there any mining fleets w/orca boost that i could go hang out with? I know the CAS mining alliance was like that awhile ago, idk if they still do that. Im not joining a mining corp im just looking to have a nice relaxing mining trip tommorow

I am not a miner (just get that out the way), but i very much doubt it. Miners are gank targets and a big public fleet where anyone can get a warp in and its location broadcasted.... is asking for trouble.
Its a bit sad but in this era of eve its too cheep and easy to grief something like this.

You could always ask anti ganking to protect you.

There's generally a Free Mining Fleet up in Otela *most* of the time. Not sure if it's still running.

I've seen lots of people asking for boosts in ice belts and frequently there is a friendly orca pilot handing them out.

You can do a d-scan to check for an orca. I think if you offered them some isk, say 1M, many orca pilots would give you a boost. The 40% boost is worth paying a tip.

i would be very keen to know if you find them, and by that I mean they operate on a regular basis.

I am currently away at the moment, but I do run mining ops and have been throwing some ideas around with a friend on how the concept is entirely feasible.

Like a lot of the responses have pointed out, the interest to such an op would have a wider attraction than to just miners. That isn't as insurmountable as i first thought and will get back to you in due course once we have a proper model.

Until then, there are lots of orcas that will give out boosts near the main ice belts for a small fee (they do daily, monthly type charges), and if that isn't your style, just rock up to a belt and convo the miners there! Just don't do it in a catalyst....
