Wow that's pretty cool. Would be nice to see active shield effects ripple along an outer shell like that also.

You've just read another awesome post by Chance Ravinne, CEO of EVE's #1 torpedo delivery service. Watch our misadventures on my YouTube channel: WINGSPANTT

I see complications that look nice but aren't functional beyond what we have now. EVE hasn't figured out how to free itself from on-screen tables for starters. I think the concept layouts are mostly visual bloat and decoration. A functional tactical overlay would include icons that are bigger or smaller based on distance, instead of static icons that get in the way more than anything.

Year or two back CCP showed us plans for new damage model in EVE. I remember seeing pictures where shield and armor damage are shown in completely different way. What happened to these plans? Are they still coming or is this project cancelled?

They couldn't implement it because they were too busy adding in the Jove regions they promised us...
The Comet Mining they promised us...
The Ring Mining they promised us...
The T3 versions of all the ships they promised us...
The revamp of Low-Sec they promised us...
The Ship Crews they promised us...
The WIS they promised us...

I mean, Fozzie Sov.

CCP Quant: Of all those who logon in Eve, 1.5% do Incursions, 13.8% PVP and 19.2% run Missions while 22.4% mine.

40.7% Join a fleet. The idea that Eve is a PVP game is false, the social fabric is in Missions and Mining.

Could you ask about those things in the next CSM meeting with CCP?

Good questions would be few things what the guy above me said.

Can confirm this is true.

This post brought to you by CCP's alpha forum alt initiative. Playing the eve forums has never come cheaper.

Those UI screenshots look utterly terrible, there's all kinds of cool colours and all that but the UI is eating up way too much screen real estate and it's actually MORE difficult to decipher the info.

So it's basicly like a concept car in a car show.

Looks great on the outside. But practical usage with how it's designed is less so.

Still though. I love the current EVE UI. But it just seems a tad uniform, very boring, we can change the colours, but there is nothing space age about it. Nothing to get me excited when a fight begins. No warnings of a target lock, voiced ship AI giving feedback (Altough that could be a crew thing when they get implemented in the year 3000)
