Reprocessing ore

Hi all. I'm doing a bit of ship building at the moment. In the reprocessing ore window (Arkanor) when you hover your mouse over the mineral results you get a not recoverable amount. Is there any way to reduce this amount as currently mine are massive?

I have reprocessing and reprocessing efficiency to level 5 and Arkanor processing to level 4.

Thanks.

by finding a better refinery

there is also a reprocessing implant. just search for reprocessing in the market and you'll find it. it's called zainou beancounter something

You will never get 100% yield, plus there is a tax for using NPC stations when your standing isn't high enough.

In hisec the best you can do without a POS is:
* Refining 5
* Refining Efficiency 5
* Ore / Ice Processing 5
* 4% Refining implant
* 50% NPC station facilities (not all stations are the same)
* At least 6.67 standing with the owning NPC corp

Cheers. I'm starting to think it might be better to sell the compressed ore and buy my minerals.

Others can correct me but Reprocessing is a viable specialization in and of itself. IOW, if it is minerals you are after, then "yes" just buy the minerals straight-away. If you need to transport minerals a long way then you could make a case that buying compressed and reprocessing yourself is economically viable after transportation costs are included.

The reprocessing window at a station will give you an estimate for the value of your ore and the value of the minerals you will receive. With level 5 skills, at a 50% station where your standings allow you to work tax free - it will (in my experience) always be profitable to reprocess. That's before considering the expense of hauling your ore to market and the brokerage/taxes associated with selling it.

The Arkonor processing skill requires Reprocessing Efficiency 5 as a prerequisite so you should be profitable even with the ore skill at level 4

But someone can always beat your numbers, with the 4% implant, and Arkonor reprocessing 5.

And that's not paying attention to the refining array for POS, which have a 4% better base yield. (The intensive, in low, has a 8% better base yield. And a fully upgraded Minmatar refinery is 20% better. (yes folks, 52% is 4% better than 50%. I refine 200 units. I get 104 back, rather than 100))

Woo! CSM XI!
