Authentication errors as a Steam user are a real pain to work out.

I don't suppose anyone else is experiencing an issue connecting to EvE? I get through the launcher just fine but when it auths against the login server, it fails. I do have a ticket open but all they are saying is it's Steam's fault.

Just curious if it's only me.

I did have a second account's play time run out today but the info wasn't at all linked to this one.

New Eden isn't nice. It isn't friendly. It isn't very hospitiable. Good thing there are people here to shoot in the face.

Yup and since the issue is beyond the authentication for Steam they have no advice.

Advice:

Uninstall Eve from Steam.

Go to the eve website.

Download the client.

Install the game outside of steam.

Care less that people can see what game you are playing via steam - and care more about the fact that you can play the game itself.

This implies I care about Steam. It's simply a delivery option. I cannot launch EvE outside of the launcher as it uses Steam for credentials.

how do you get access to your characters that you made with the steam eve download?
