Another Mining idea

So Looking at the previous idea i wanted to make another suggestion in a positive reward system

Going back to the gas cloud idea.

Various pocks of gas fly around, when you fly though them you get some bonus. Effects stack the more you
get a specific type. Each ore grants some sort of buff combo.


Arkonor - Improve Yield rate, + Range
Bistot - Improved Flight Speed, Agility
Crokite - Improve Cycle Rate + Shield Regeneration
Spodumain Improved Flight Speed, + Cycle Rate
Mercoxit - + Yield Amount + Cycle Rate

Each time you harvest a cycle, it will release gas,
each time you pick up a gas cloud, you gain the effect for x period.

1 cloud - 60 second duration
2 clouds - 90 seconds
3 clouds - 180 seconds

Alternatively, you could learn what a fleet booster is and how it works, because everything you're describing is a bonus those already give.

This has nothing to do with Orca/Rorq boost.

It has to do with keeping people active, and paying attention to optimize their performance
much like that which is required in pvp.

The idea behind it is to take the very tedious and boring game play out of mining.

If they're nothing to do with boosts, then why are they exactly the same as the bonuses you'd get from a booster?

The flipside is that multiboxing becomes untenable, the Rorqual and Orca are still miserable sitting at the POS doing nothing but boosting, and at the end of the day if you don't fix those two things, you're still making 25%+ less solo than in a gang (though it is better than the 40%+ that exists today).

Yea, It really pisses me off about the rorq and orca,

But i guess that will go away when pos's are removed.

I think a large amount of that problem is vastly due to the fact that they are so bulky, and slow.
This was a really bad design concept for ccp. If they were really powerful (in terms of pvp)
then they would likely be much better and likely fielded.

Tedious and boring to you maybe, but perfectly fine to those who enjoy it. Unsurprisingly those same people find PvP utterly mind numbing, many others hate PI though I quite like it. Yet more loathe invention.

Each to their own I always think, if you don't like something that doesn't mean your view is the only valid one and that the activity in question should be changed.

The current balance of mining is fine for those who enjoy it, simply add in a new mechanic along the Comet Mining thread to reward more active players and it'll be in a very good position.

Hard to imagine given that every previous mining idea sucked....who could have forseen that this one would also suck.

This adds nothing more than a silly side game to mining, gimmicky trash.

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.
