7-day protection protocol

Just initiate for new gamers 7-day protection protocol. Do it.

Its really sad that pirates can kill you everywhere, even in hi-sectors. If old players can fight back, new - can't.

But, limit protocol 7 opportunities, old gamers could use them to transit goods without being attacked by pirates. So limit transit. And disable this protocol, if newies initiating somebodies attack on some period of time.

Its hard to play new players. When these assholes kills them, people stop play this game, because they have lost most of they got.

Best regards, new EVE player.

On average people who get killed are more likely to stay in EVE.

There are already rules against ganking in starter systems: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Rookie_Systems

Once you leave the nest you are fair game. Getting killed is part of the game and implies no malice - the ganker will often replace your ship and teach you what you did wrong - especially if you venture into the lower security regions of New Eden.

Pretty much this. You'll be surprised how things work out for many players....

Hell, CCP even put out a video about this, Causality or some such if I recall. About a guy getting ganked. He then gets into the alliance of the people who ganked him, worked his way up in the organization and when the time was right, emptied wallets, hangars, etc.

I too feel I should have been unattackable in my first seven days of playing battlefield 4.

What have you got to lose in the first seven days of your game that you cant again achieve in another seven days?

As they should be able to.
Security and safety is non-existant in EVE. ( With sole exception of covert cloaking)

I actually suppose that this is mostly because those are players curious enough to explore sandbox, venturing into more dangerous space and trying to make things happen. Such players are indeed more likely to stay.

Getting a social connection via good old "things you did wrong" method can be involved as well though.

I'm fine with 7day protection. Imagine I need a way to move my plexes (or anything valuable that could be moved in a T1 frigate) in something un-gankable, and that would indeed be efficient at that.

Undock timer with a DST, fleeted newb account pick PLEXES from fleet hangar, transport to next hub, repeat the trick.

And that's exactly why it will never, ever, happens.

ive seen it in a couple of other games tbh, 7 day truce period, you cant actually do anything though, no pvp, no carebearing/pve.

I dont really see it achieving anything in eve apart from severe boredom

There's a reason why I've never started an F&I thread, and that's because any idea I'd have would be as bad as the OP's.

its better if new players lose some really cheap or free stuff on the first day, rather than losing the ship where they invested all their efforts the second the 7-days protection expire

like getting suicide ganked by NPC's?

Well, if you lost a ship to NPCs for non-technical reasons (disconnection, ddos, etc), you deserved to loose it.

I killed a very young newbie recently and upon realizing his age, messaged him. Such confusion. Just a small list of things he said:
Came to lowsec to check out the "big fights".
Why does it make you land 12km from the stargate?
Where do they sell the modules I lost? (they were civilian mods)
Can you send me some ISK? I can't mine for more than 5 minutes without these red things shooting me.

It took about 15 questions for him to even begin to understand how to recover from what happened. The NPE is still that awful. Killing the newbros is fine of course but I think us veterans have an onus to message them after to let them know what's up.
