No.

Play in a window, copy shortcut. Paste to browser. It's better this way. Having activeX in the client allows people to hax your game.

Steam overlay is better than this. EVE will be fullscreen, the browser is capable and there's chat for your Steam friends.
Just a shift-tab and the overlay appears, where you can watch cat videos on Youtube with your AFK Domi in the background.

You don't need to buy EVE on Steam, either. Just add it as a non-Steam game, and you have the overlay.

In any case, the EVE browser could benefit from a CCP specified 'trusted site' list with Youtube, eveisreal, etc.

You have the benefit of not knowing the total pile of puke that was the last in game browser.

The new browser, was at the time, on of the best things to happen in the client.

Well, there obviously is some way of doing it, since my incessant misclicks have a tendency to open up all kinds of wierdness my normal browser…

…but I think that's limited to what's linked in the log-in screen pop-ups and the character selection news feed — the stuff you see before you have access to the actual in-game browser.

So there is a way to send URLs out of the game, but I don't think it's available to us as players in any way that we can control.

i run EVE in a window (albeit, fullscreen, but still in a window) so i have no problem going to firefox to look up any link i want

even if the in-game browser was the fastest browser available, i probably wouldn't be interested in using it because it's just more intuitive for me to click on the taskbar if i'm browsing the net
