So in other words, you are claiming that hulkageddon will give out prizes for shooting gankers…

I can't remember reading that anywhere, but maybe you have some new and interesting information on the topic. Could you link it please?

Or are you still confused about who this tweak is for (hint: it's not the participants of hulkageddon, on either side).

Oh, and you still didn't answer the other alternative: do you really consider it griefing to shoot outlaws?

Of course I didn't answer your question, you're trolling as usual.

If you can't differentiate between "Who something is for" as opposed to "Who something effects" then you should never be involved with things that effect other people.

When you have to put something directly stated into "other words" it means either you do not comprehend the words or you have a need to alter them for some other reason.

I want this to happen so every time a newbie goes GCC trying to save his out-of-corp friend whos spaceship I am murdering I get to pod someone.

I hardly get any podkills, it's sad.

Why not? I'm interested in your reasoning here.

I don't troll — usually or otherwise.

You are the one who seems to have problems separating the two here: it's for the people hunting gankers (who aren't participating in the hulk-hunting); it affects the participants in hulkageddon (who will draw down those GCCs as part of their participation). Ok, sure, it affects the hunters as well, since they would no longer have to GCC themselves if they wanted to shoot the gankers.

You implied that bringing a pod-hunting ship to take advantage of this tweak would be to participate in mass-griefing. Since the targets you'd have would be the gankers, I'm asking you if this is really the conclusion we should draw: that you consider hunting gankers to be mass-griefing. Usually, people like to claim that it is the gankers who are the griefers rather than the ones who are killing those gankers. So your implied position is a rather interesting reversal of that common sentiment, and I would just like to clarify whether that is what you actually mean or not.

Hulks aren't flagged, why should gank pods be?

Sit around long enough, if I have you red I'll blow up your pod anyway.

On a slightly side note, has the dates for hulkageddon been released or is it still TBA?

I think its like january 4 or so, the date was made so people would return to eve from the holidays, then hulkageddon would start I believe.

Did You Know that pods with -5 sec status can be shot without intervention by CONCORD?

I don't understand why the OP doesn't just cowboy up and pop that pod. Like he pointed out, Concord is hardly a deterrent for gankers. Why should it be a deterrent for you? If the target is an outlaw, you don't even suffer a sec penalty.

Actions have consequences, you want to kill the pod badly enough you should be willing to deal with them, and repair your sec status just like the rest of us.

Or are you just looking for risk-free PVP vs defenseless pods that are not even allowed to board a ship long enough to fight back?

Chuckle. I'm having difficulty understanding the irony of "risk-free PvP" coming from a ganker of mining vessels.

This, if I'm spamming WTZ with no bubble, you aint getting the pod unless I want teleport service. Even if you have overview set to show just pods, the time it takes you to move from the hulk pod to mine, I'm already in warp. Besides, people don't want revenge, they want to save thier assets and still be able to play the game.
The above goes for you too: I think you're missing who this GCC tweak is intended for…

This would have no real effect. Its impossible for someone with a pulse to lose a pod in empire. Liberal spamming of the warp button will have your pod warping out of the exploding carcass of your ship in a rather badass manner. Even sensor boosting interceptors won't be able to lock you.

You asked me once, what was in Room 101. I told you that you knew the answer already. Everyone knows it. The thing that is in Room 101 is the worst thing in the world.

*LOL*

WOW, so many posts and so much controversy and it seems plenty of posts are from people
who aren't actually hunting any gankers.

So listen to somebody who has plenty experience in hunting pods and interacting with these people.

First of all, it's not hard to get pods, even if they spam warp. It doesn't work all the time for everybody.
The reason why ... i don't know. Do i care ? No. I get them, i kill them. Easy as that.

Second of all, if it had no effect, then there's still no reason not to make pods with GCC legal targets...
but there's a reason TO change it, simply because it makes sense.
Criminals are criminals, it shouldn't stop at their pods.

Yes, i've shot ganking pods that were above -5 already too ... the reduction of my sec really hurts
and it hurts me more than it would hurt any ganker ever.

I also already shot pods with implants. You might say a full set of basic implants or a ZGC1000 isn't much,
but on the other hand ... it is. And if i weren't a disturbance for them, the gankers wouldn't have gone after me together
after i shot him down. ^^ That was fun ! And it's all about increasing the fun in the things we do !

Please, people ... stop speculation. It's not impossible to catch pods. Not everybody spams warp ... not everybody
spams warp and gets out. It's just as simple as this and i've seen it plenty of times already.

The intended change makes sense logically. The intended change broadens up the ways to interact with others,
even if it's only a tiny bit. It also opens up more ways to gather killmails, for those who care about it.

It's first and foremost reason is that it gives an additional way to interact
with the a group that lacks interaction anyway ... the gankers.

And i would never want to nerf gankers ... that's boring and wrong ... but finding additional ways to interact with them,
to shoot them and kill them ... to do some harm to them ... that's something that should be encouraged.

Thanks. :)

CONCORD should pop the pod of the offender, bill's 100m to the offenders wallet while under GCC for a "service fee" of sending them to the med clone, and CONCORD bills an additional 2 million (same as wardec) to the hulk pilot for being summoned to the asteroid field. Hey, its a harsh universe and automating that harshness would equal out all players at every level. Hulk pilots loose an expensive ship, ganker loses isk even if he had implants or not, BOTH come out at a loss and an isk sink is created while both pilots get to do what they want (one mines, other ganks, both are losers for undocking Twisted).

To bad it wouldn't happen Roll. CCP could at least give hulks a buff, still can't see why Titans and Super Carriers get dumbed down so they are easier to kill (being the most difficult to destroy they were able to log off after 15 minutes safetly) but Hulks never got a buff to make them more difficult to kill (being that they die in seconds).

Seriously......how much do people think pods cost? like a gankers gonna pop in some implants just for the added lols/risk factor? no, if they make the change they'll use blank clones and on the off chance you DO manage catch the pod they still. wont. care.

But I suppose thats as good a reason as any to bring the change in, cept for newbies who'll inevitably pay the price when this system backfires on the people who want it.

So much hate, ignorance and nescience.

CONCORD popping the pod ... makes no sense. That just sounds like whining because "somebody" lost his ship
to gankers ... hiding behind a forum alt makes this idea look even more likely.

This thread is not about nerfing gankers or buffing anybody. This thread is also not about whinebears
who can't cope with the fact that they get their ass kicked regularly. Whoever gets his ass kicked every day
deserves it anyway, else he would fight against it.

As i stated above, there are gankers who use implants. I don't care about any specific type of ganker,
the change includes gate-gankers as well as hulk-gankers, which i usually don't care about,
but the Hulkaggeddon event shifts the priority to them.

If anybody really cares about pro and contra, there's plenty of it in my old thread about this topic.
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=35230

Some guy has very good arguments about why it doesn't really matter if noobs get lured into GCC
and get podded ... and if you're REALLY interested in any discussion about it, i'm sure you'll have a look into it.

What i'm particularly interested in ... is if CCP SoundWave could make it happen for at least the week of Hulkaggeddon
or if the change will eventually stay anyway.

Whoever believes that people would get griefed too hard by this, should remember that it's always in one's own
responsibility to get in trouble ... or not. (a simple fact of life that's already beyond many people, sadly)

And others who believe that new players would just ragequit should check the map ... particularly 0.9 systems,
new player systems ... check how many ships are lost every day and how many more pods die every day.
Plenty ! It wouldn't change anything, they'd die this way or the other.

Thanks for your contributions so far. :)

Actually after incarna warping pods out has become quite unreliable. It's still pretty unreliable.
