Nomad wormhole lifestyle

Starting tommorow morning i will be moving into a C4 wormhole and starting my nomadic lifestyle.

I have a scount alt, an orca pilot and a vargur pilot, which im going to use to roam from C4 and C5 wormholes to run combat sites untill i run out of supplies, or die (more likely)

Has anyone ever done this? Its more of an extreme that daytripping, it seems like the final frontier of solo play to me

It was the frontier in 2009, yes.

focus on the gas sites..

not as dank as blue loot but that delicious 320 and the ease with which ventures and toons to huff with t2 harvesters can be trained.

also best isk return on any ship ive ever owned in the game..

I do exactly this but with a stratios, an Iteron, and a Rattlesnake. I usually stick to C3/C4's. Some tips..

1. Always have a full flight of warp stabs in your inventory so you can refit to them and fly away.
2. Have PLENTY of mobile depots.
3. Target Spectrum Breaker is pretty nice in case you get ganked and don't have quite enough warp stabs.

Cheers...

Good advice. Do you passive or active tank fit your Rattlers? How many warp core stabs do u need to be scram immune? How long do you have to refit using mobile depot before the gankers can reinforce it?

I can help with #1

Passive rattler is far and away much better it gets 1,660 dps omni tank (my skills) without implants or boosters, and its customizable because you can orbit your MD and just swap out DDAs/BCUs when the waves arent that tough

Passive rattler indeed. The DPS changes depending on how you fill out your lows. Same with the tank as Chiang suggested. A rattler can fit 6 warp core stabs. This means that it will take more than 3 scrams or 6 warp disruptors to keep me from warping. Scrams are -2 and disruptors are -1. When my warp core strength is BELOW 0 I can't warp. That being said the Target spectrum breaker I mentioned earlier is nice because it might break the lock of some of the people scramming or disrupting you allowing you to quickly escape.

That being said the rattler is a very strong ship so most of the time when you're getting ganked you can usually take out a guy or two before switching to warp core stabs and buggering off. I highly advise watching D-Scan so you can tell what is coming to get you so you can decide whether or not you want to stay and fight or if you should run.

Yeah i actually used to run a rattle on my other char :b 1,660 dps omni tank with no implants is nice and 900 to 1200 dps depending.

Currently im using the vargur because im wanting to solo c5 sites as well and my fit tanks 3000dps omni cold.

I know its a gank magnet but i really enjoy playing eve in high-risk high-reward strategies and in different ways ;3

Hah, I'd fly a Vargur if I could. Though let's be honest you could afford to buy another after one or two days of running c4-c5 sites no problem. After 3-4 you could bling fit it like no other :)

Avoided my first gank today. Thanks to diligent DScaning i caught a nemesis enter the WH for about 2 seconds.

My MTU was unfortunatly far away so i had to abandon it. It got killed about 10mins later. I had quickly warped to a safe when i saw the nemesis and cloaked up. After about 35mins they got bored and left (i think) i uncloaked and got a safe log off

I figure they will go back to their WH before it closes and i should be safe from that particular group tommorow. Saw a few t1 and t3 destroyers and atleast 2 different bombers.

Again the Rattler. I'm soo friggin jealous of that ship. Sigh why did I have to train for this overprice Paladin. It'd take me another 4-5 months to train my 2 RR domis alts to fly Rattlers, sigh.

Paladins are definitively not a waste. You can solo C5 sites in them... You can make the price of your paladin costs in a day. Two if you bling it to hell.

2 things:

1) can you keep us updated of how your doing
2) do you close holes or run sites with open connections ?

1. Sure why? Hunting me or generally curious?
2. I run them with open connections. Ive never really tried closing a hole, i should do that but i just scope out the holes connected to me and run sites when they are inactive or empty. If i find a very active hole i usually run sites in dscan range of the hole or just wait for it to close
