Over the last few days I, like a lot of us have have done some updating with graphics drivers and OS.

Well today I updated to Windows 10 and now my EVE client can't get over 6 FPS. I have gone back to Windows 7 to see if this is an OS issues but EVE still runs at between 1 and 5 FPS even at minimal settings....

Anyone out there have any ideas?

Having the same problem. I also reverted back to win7 and reinstalled the graphics drivers. No luck. I have also:
- Uninstalled and reinstalled EVE.
- Tested again on several other games. No problems with World of Warships or H1Z1
- Run Microsoft Memory diagnostics. No issues reported.
- Performed clean installation of GPU drivers.

Side note: The nite I first installed Win 10 and the Nvidia drivers for it, EVE worked fine for the rest of the evening. It wasn't until the next morning after restart that I started having these issues.

Any help greatly appreciated

I just read another post about WIN10 and the answer was to make sure you run EVE under (as?) an ADMIN but please make sure one of the real techies reply to this.

We have seen a few people suffer from from a drop in frame rate since updating to Windows 10, as the comment above mentions, if you right click on the launcher exe and select 'Run as Administrator' you should hopefully see the frame rate return to what it normally is.

As with any major OS update, make sure you have the latest drivers for all of your hardware, a lot of new drivers got pushed out recently to support the new OS. Let us know how you get on :)

I've found that after updating to Windows 10, my User Account didn't have full control over My Documents folder (I was pissing about with some other files when I found this out).

After Opening up the properties of My Documents Folder I did the following:

  • Right Click My Documents

  • Open the Security Tab

  • Click on Advanced

  • The Permissions may not show "Full Control" under HomeUsers. If it does not, click HomeUsers > Edit > Tick Full Control and ok the whole shebang.

I don't know if this will work for everyone but after doing this I found I could run Eve normally without having to use Administrator Mode.

Now as to the drop in framerate, I only noticed this when using a Geforce GFX card, and had issues updating to the latest driver. I resolved the issue by installing a Radeon GFX card, and was surprised by how much better it was. The benchmarks for both cards were fairly close but the Radeon card was only a marginal upgrade in performance, yet it is performing more like it is twice the power in terms of rendering and framerate. I am interested in why this may be. One final note, both cards support DX 11.2.

Is it a tarp?
