The Aesthetics of Incoming Rat Waves or: How I Would Like to Stop Worrying and Watch the Warp-In Animation

Dear CCP,

I'm a big fan of the relatively new "ships warping onto grid" animation with corresponding POOM sfx. Love it. It's incredibly cinematic and is one of those little touches I always dig experiencing, even when it means I'm about to get popped.

When running sites, would it be possible for the next wave of NPCs to warp on to grid instead of spontaneously appearing? I love the idea of accidentally triggering the next wave too early and experiencing a dozen new craft warping in to the fight. Plus it keeps the game more rooted in "reality", unless there's some space folding rational that's a bit of lore I'm not familiar with.

Rats still just spawning and de-spawning on/off grid in 2015? Shame on you CCP

it has been brought up several times, and the question is weather or not they'd ACTUALLY WARP and thus be vulnerable to bubbles and such or if it'd be more like a replacement spawn animation...

I'd like it don't get me wrong but there were some valid points...

Alternatively, use the new cloaking animations and have them decloak and start shooting.

don't care whether they actually warp or just appear to, or if they decloak/appear to (as long as they get a decloaking recalibration time!) - but the spawning thing does kinda ruin immersion for me

For posting an idea into F&I: come up with idea, try and think how people could abuse this, try to fix your idea - loop the process until you can't see how it could be abused, then post to the forums to let us figure out how to abuse it..... If your idea can be abused, it [u]WILL[/u] be.

Obviously they are all interdiction nullified.

Can we have NPC's not be so pathetic while we are at it. Like, each NPC have 50% of a player ship EHP for a start, and maybe do 50% of the DPS of a comparable player ship. Might require a 'slight' reduction in the number of spawns obviously.

Well, just have most of them have a prop mod (either AB or MWD) would be good enough as far as difficulty increase could go...
