WOD failed and EVE subscription declined. Since then they have put huge efforts into EVE to keep it barely alive. Do you, as a EVE player, really want them to split their resources to work on WIS?

Actually EVE stopped growing when Incarna failed. What were expecting the people who joined EVE from 2007 to 2011?


PS, on topic: with technology currently available on Earth, that ride would take 25 minutes. I'm feeling lazy to calculate the minimum time with a constant 1 G acceleration...

The best part of having almost WiS as a project launched: is the ignorance and shortsightedness (of the players) to realize their killing their own social sandbox, which took invested time to build up / create.
(no-one likes to see their time for being taked as granted, in a "game where you, the pilot, make the difference" ..... Or ow wait nah, we just say it is, and we actually don't care as long as you $$ and use plex (which we manipulate tooo))

There is a fan fiction video from John Drees on youtube that takes recorded comms from fleets / corps in EVE and it's a parody of the EVE is real video. Despite the glaze, there are plenty of variations in the unaccounted regions of null-sec, the third party stuff lower down doesn't void the EULA, it just happens to be 'the only stuff people accept' that the EULA can't be used to enforce. This video has 360k views. A lot of comments say the content in that video was the reason they quit, the reason eve players in E:D get a bad rep, the reason they wont play EVE etc..

Not one person is saying WiS should be a live-in situation.

There are plenty of voice apps amongst the corporations and alliances of EVE. Most of them 3rd party due to comments re EVE Voice, which we paid for.

There are chat interfaces in EVE too, but we use third party stuff like slack, mumble, pidgin, jabber.....

I don't get whats so anti-social about a 1 hour duration instance of WiS, and how much it can damage you if you miss it.

I mean, it's much more hostile to base everything you do outside of the game, and say all the CCP hf. development time for socialising is 'not worth it' and 'lacklustre'

Yes, and they are doing "great job" satysfying your kind. You forgot about micropayments and outrageous prices, it seems only few people, like me, understood WiS was only a beginning of something greater, that could come with time. I did not resigned. Lets now talk about those who resigned, now you have levels from y. 2008, 3 years back from y. 2011 levels, when we had 40000 players (after the much cherished by some people here WIS death). Back then CCP had Avatar exploration demo and WIS was still a posibility. Now you can cherish.
